In Islam Jesus is called the Messiah (annointed Prophet). He came from a miracle birth and performed miracles so nobody could falsely accuse him of being an imposter or a fake and then demand the death penalty on him. He was to be the last chance redeemer for the Jewish nation. If they accepted him and repented then they would be spared from a "lanat" and they would be forgiven for their rebellion and for the killing of Gods Prophets.

After that.... the Prophethood was shifted to the Ishmaelites and the message sent through the Great Ishmaelite Prophet (Mohammed) would be the last and eternal message until the day of Judgement.

The traditional title of Messiah, or "anointed one" was an honorary title of God's appointed King/Prophet of the Israelites.

Saul was a messiah, David was a Messiah, Zedekiah, the last king of Israel of the line of Judah was a Messiah

The word “Messiah” is an English rendering of the Hebrew word “Mashiach”, whose translation is “Anointed”. It usually refers to a person initiated into G-d’s service by being anointed with oil. (Having oil poured on his head. Cf. Exodus 29:7, I Kings 1:39, II Kings 9:3).

There are many Messiahs in the Bible. Since every King and High Priest/pastor was anointed with oil, each may be referred to as “an anointed one” (a Mashiach or a Messiah). For example: “G-d forbid that I [David] should stretch out my hand against the L-rd’s Messiah [Saul]...” I Samuel 26:11. Cf. II Samuel 23:1, Isaiah 45:1, Psalms 20:6.

Islam also says that those who denied Jesus was a true messenger and Prophet (Messiah) ----- will be sent a “False Messiah” near the last days as a final Punishment.

Those who join him will be on the side of EVIL and those who oppose him will be on the side of Good.

This False Messiah will rule from Jerusalem and will be the most EVIL leader to come in the history of mankind.

Yes, Jesus is called Messiah in the Koran, but as I've mentioned in here before the islamic concept of what a Messiah is does not go along with Christian beliefs of it.

But you see that's not enough for the the Christians.
For them it requires you also believe that Jesus Peace be Upon him,is 1/3rd of God. That only by believing in him as the son of god can your sins be forgiven. You also need to hate poor people, love guns and vote republican.

So who is the greater Prophet?
The guy below me doesn't get it: Jesus' teaching are rejected and that is the cause of all the problems. It's really like saying Einstein is a great scientist but his theories are crap.If anybody could be considered prophets then we might have to consider David Quresh and Charles Manson too

Guy above me is all like "My prophet could kick your prophet's ***."
Would you say that Ezekial is greater than Moses? Then why should you say any servant of "God" is greater than another? I'll never understand you people. If you made a single concession, Muslims, and said "Jesus was the son of God." and if you Christians made a single concession, and said "Mohammad was a prophet too," and if you Jews made two concessions and said "Jesus was the Messiah, and Mohommad was a prophet." All of this bloodshed over semantics could end, but you're so caught up in serving the 'right' God, when they're.. all the same bloody God, that you're willing to kill and die over it.
You people.. you're just not bright enough to live in Tomorrow's world.

so WHY would Jesus' efforts be overridden by another prophet [ muhammad] born 700 years later.
It lessens what Jesus taught.
And Muhammad had two parents.
Jesus' father was Almighty God himself.
