Hi Sweetie,
I think it depends on what the theme of the menue is. My husband and I run a small cafe and our soups are usually paired with the current menue. For fall, we run a butternut soup and save the french onion for warmer weather as it is a lighter style soup. But if you have a predominantly french themed menue.... then go with the onion. Another great fall soup to try is smokey roasted pumpkin and corn chowder.... very popular here in new england. Love and luck--MissDelanne

Probably butternut squash and ginger.
I love French onion soup, but it's a meal in itself - so not good for business!

I don' t think I have tried french onion before so i would have the butternut squash one. I love root vegetables and they are in season at the moment so i think that soup would be a good choice :) enjoy!

French onion for today -- the butternut needs another month or so to be perfectly matured and sweet.

But boy, it sure sounds good! Go with your gut. Especially if you have a whole lot of butternut. It'd be good today, and great next month. OTOH, you can have French onion about any old time.

butternut and ginger. very seasonal, and refreshing. leave the french onion for when it gets a bit colder as i always think of it more as a winter one for some reason.
