Because of disagreements in some Bible scriptures. For example, some believe that speaking in tongues is a gift for all Christians while others don't believe it. There are so many disagreements that are not necessary. But God has a purpose why He allowed certain things to happen.

Apostasy. When the Lord established His Church He ordained Apostles and Prophets to teach the people. As the Apostles were killed, they were replaced with New Apostles, such as Paul. However, at some point, probably due to a combination of the wickedness of men and the distances involved at the time, the Apostles did not ordain successors.
The Apostles had spent their lives correcting mistakes in the Church. That is why we have the Bible. When there were no Apostles left, the mistakes continued and began the flourish. The Priesthood was lost. As Amos prophecied there was a famine in the land of the word of God. (Amos 8:11). Isaiah's words were fullfilled that they broke the everlasting Covenant and changed the ordinances.
The Twelve knew this would come. Christ told them they would killed and persecuted for His sake. Paul told the Thesselonians(sp?) that Christ's second coming would not occur into after an Apostasy. He also told the people that wolves would enter in afterwards and not spare the flock. John prophecied in Revelation that the saints would be overcome. But that also the Lord would send an angel through the midst of heaven carrying the everlasting Gospel for the people.
Over the last two millinium, the Church of Christ has fractured and split. Some contending over one piece of doctrine, others over another. All because of a loss of the Priesthood direction and the revelations needed. Christ gave Peter the keys of the Kingdom and those Keys were lost to the people.
This apostasy was prophecied. And so was the restoration that has since occured.

There are lot of reason why we had lots of denomination.
Primarily, we have different faith and beliefs and we don't aggree on the structure of one denominations doctrine.
Now adays people or christian as they claim they are called and child of God. And accordingly, they were tasked to create a congregation or denomination but in fact mostly are after for a stable income.Because they knew christian are easily be blinded in terms of 'chriastianity or Christ " topic, and they took it advantages.
So it's up for us to evaluate, weigh, analizes and observe where group or denomination we want to joined.

Too many religions,
Only one God.
I don't need another religion.
