Did someone actually say that the US drew the Soviets into Afghanistan?, are "Bleeping" kidding me!!! please explain to me how and when the US was anywhere near Afghanistan prior to the invasion. I was wondering how long it would take some idiot to blame The US, it didn't take long. The Soviet invasion was a first move for them to go into the middle east in general but they needed a base of operations friendly to them. After securing Afghanistan they were going after Iran and other middle eastern countries. The war and the Russian defeat in large part set the stage for the rise of Bin Laden and Al Quida, and they and the Taliban are who is causing the problems in that country.

Afghanistan was the USA's revenge for Vietnam they agitated a war which drew in the Soviets,US support caused the Soviets heavy losses and in '89 they withdrew leaving behind a country torn to pieces ruled by warlords until the Taliban came along

the main advantage had got by USA becz. after the war economy wise russia become unstable and many countries came into being like ukrain etc. and only 1 country having power remain in the world who wat wants get it.
