ooooooooo........im all excited for you! What cool pews/benches those are!!

I would put up some roman blinds using a highly coloured/textured or patterned material, using the colours that are in the blinds make/buy/have made some pillows for on those benches. Put down a large rug. get some extra large canvases from a discount art shop and some acrylic paint (can be diluted with water) and get some artwork on the walls. I dont know how artistic you are but just go for it!! (if you are nervous about painting then just paint the whole canvas one colour then just roughly paint stripes horizontally across in shades that will match with yopur room.
Given the furniture you have and the plain walls i would go for scarlet with touches of gold. The wood will really go with this and your home will feel cosier for it.

I wish i could do it for you!!!

OK.
Seeing just the walls is hard to get the idea of available space, but here is the concept.
Those benches are very nice, but they need to get off the walls so you can appreciate them. Make a grouping so that they are the focus of the room. make them face each other so that they can be use for conversation. Get a nice rug, something that will work with the style of furniture you have.
Maybe even throw some color into the benches by ,adding some cushions that match the rug. The window must be completely covered with a window treatment. Get a balance with a wrought iron rod that can accommodate a heavy linen fabric. The fabric can be colorful, but keep in mind the style. Bring color in the room with accessories, paintings, and pillows. Lighting is a must, sometimes in garage sales you can find some interesting things, but you must have patience, if not go to the store and find a good set of lights, even sconces would accentuate your wall and artwork.
If paint is not an option, maybe you can get some large canvas (in a roll) and make frames about 6feet by 3feet and hang them 18 inches apart about 3 of them and paint color into them so that they can double as artwork and wall accent.
Good luck,

Fabulous benches and chairs! You are right, it seems kind of cold and rigid, though. If you can, I would put a nice area rug in the middle of the room, move the bench and chairs away from the walls, and to face each other with the window off to one side. Then I would either buy or sew some nice fluffy seat cushions to go on the benches and chairs, hang some art on the walls, or curtains or window shades with some color, to give splashes of color. you need to break up all the straight lines... maybe some planters with green plants would help, too! you have a fabulous start! have fun and happy decorating!

first off clutter. there is too much on the tables. also your furniture is suctioned to the wall. if you have two long benches and two chairs place the long ones on walls adjacent to each other and the chairs caddy cornered where you sit and face them. it gives conversation and isn't eye sore. also color. If you don't do it with paint, add color with vases, plants, curtain, or pillows/ throws ono the benches. just add personal touches
