For who? I know many very happy and content Christians.

Christianity, like Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, is all about faith. It is not the religion that fails you, but it is your faith that fails you. You can be any faith you want to be, but you have to believe in it whole heatedly.

But somehow, I don't think you are referring to Christianity as religion that has failed for you, but you are yet another in a long string of Christian bashers with an axe to grind.

Christianity hasn't worked because it has been exploited by the vested interests over the years and the true message of Christ has been lost in the sectarian divisions of Christianity, the religion. It is really heartbreaking to see that Christianity has been divided and subdivided into so many conflicting sects that it has no longer remained a simple message of love and compassion for which Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. In such a conflicting state of affairs the peoples faith on their spiritual upliftment gets shaken and people get confused on many conflicting issues confronting their religious beliefs.

if Christianity hasn't worked, there is a lack of faith on the part of the individual.

humanity's faith was always fragile and God found it necessary to annihilate the world with a flood. he promised that there would be no re-occurrence and the rainbow is a reminder of this promise.
since then, humanity has strayed again and God had to devise a remedy. He walked the earth as Jesus, the Christ, and died on the cross to save us from our sins. all one must do is to acknowledge that the deed has been done and confess your sins so that they might be forgiven.
Jesus, also, made a very important amendment to the commandments in that we must love one another indiscriminately. if you only love those who love you, you have accomplished nothing. if you love even those who would hate you, you have accomplished much.

The simple answer is that not all that is called "Christian" is Christian. Many false professors exist in world today, and many wolves have intermingled with God's sheep. Thus, the world gets a dark and tainted picture of "Christianity." Remember, the first people were called "Christian" because they followed and resembled Christ so closely. Therefore, just because we have labeled something "loosely" as Christian doesn't make it Christian... true Christianity works... it is just hard to find.

I think it is because we have been lied to for many generations by the leaders of the church, in the beginning religion was used as a power mechanism to gain control of the population through fear it was basically tyranny, for this reason, over time, government laws were passed and certain immoralistic freedoms were given to prevent torture and war. For this reason society has grown farther and farther away from the truth and have become more and more immoral and insensitive to their fellow human beings. The truth is a beautiful thing, it is to bad that we have grown so far from it that it would be impossible for us to recapture it as a whole society. However I have to admit that I find the concept of God illogical due to personal experiences I do not find morals and love illogical, and I still believe in the TRUE moral standards the bible relates to each and everyone of us.

Christianity has worked. Just need to get those false believers out so everyone and anyone can enjoy their chosen believe. Religions do not need false believers to force their religion onto others.

It works fine. The Christians all believe they get pie in the sky when they die so thay are willing to accept whatever their bosses let them have here.
It makes the serfs much easier to control.

Christianity works when we give glory to the God. Luckily our salvation is not about us, and what we do. It has everything to do with what Jesus did for us on the cross. When you accept him as your Lord and Savior, you believe who He is and you ask forgiveness and repent and you believe He will save you, He will save you. Works every time.
