It depends on which of the formulas you use. Some of Clinique's toners are very harsh.
As for the yellow moisturizer, it seems people either love it or hate it. I think it's okay but I hardly use moisturizer and haven't tried the gel formula yet.
I like Clinique's facial soap bar but have found products that are just as good at the drugstore. (i.e. Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads, Dove sensitive skin bar)
BTW, I have sensitive, combination skin that is prone to breakouts.
You can try it & make sure you can return whatever doesn't work for you.

Clinique won't do much for you if you are broken out. I've tried Clinique, Sheseido, Retin-A, Mary Kay... everything. My freind's dermatologist recommended a glycolic clenser for her, and I tried it.
Glytone. Best. Stuff. Ever.
It cleared my skin in a week, and now, 4 months later, I still have crystal clear skin! It's not cheap, but it's worth it, and it works. There is obviously no cheap over-the-counter skin product or everyone would have clear skin. This is formulated with glycolic acid, and it will transform your skin to brand new. It's amazing, I suspect it's a celebrity secret.
You can buy it online, at a dermatologist's office who carries the line, or at a cosmedical spa. I found it through yahoo local by typing in glytone.
ps- the first week will be irritating (some burning and stinging) while your skin builds a tolerance for glycolic acid, but it's worth it.
Also, a little goes a long way, which makes this inexpensive. My same two bottles (mild gel wash and rejuvinate step 1) still have about a month's worth of product left. That comes out to about $10 a month. =)
If you are dead set on trying Clinique, get samples so you don't waste your money. You can get samples from several different department stores so you can try it for more than a week. However, I recommend just going strait to glytone and seeing results sooner.

i can say from experience that if it has been a while since you have used any skin care regimen, this is normal it usually takes my skin between 1 and 2 weeks to clear up. basically what is happening is you have a lot of crud built up in your pores. the clinique is just trying to get it all out. if your not comfortable with what you are experiencing, stop. if you can hang in there for a week or two, just keep using the product. if after two weeks things are not better, talk to the sales person. i have always really liked and had good experiences with clinique. unfortunately, i believe what ever product you use (be it high dollar or walmart brand) you will have the same "issue." hope that helps

hmmmm....check with other brands. clinique is good to some but not all. everyones skin reacts in different ways so check with the company and see if they could give you a trial size. let them know you are interested in purchasing but you dont want to regret it...also tell them that if it works you'll be a loyal customer. at least it will be more in your favor to get a sample :)
