My son knew how to use the remote as soon as he was able to pick it up, like it was instinct or something. My daughter is 5 and has never learned, because she can never find it. Turns out my son has it all the time.

I have a three year old daughter that can work the remote for my satellite TV. And this includes the DVR on the remote. If she is watching something and has to do something else, she will pause the show. Kids these days are alot smarter than what we were at their age!

My daughter is 18 months and she can use the remote to turn the TV on and off. She knows that puching the other buttons is just funny.

my child learned using it to turn on/off the tv when he was abt 1 and a half, learned to change channels abt 2y/o (by using the up and down button for channels), and when he was about 4, he knows every channel there is! he knows the channel for disney, nickelodeon,star movies, hbo,cartoon network among others..

my oldest are 6 and 4 and they ask me what buttons to press for volume, but they know numbers to change to the channel they want
