When you are born you have to believe that the one lying by the side is your mother. The mother then tells you about the father and you believe that. This whole world is based on trust and beliefs.
I don't understand why we start arguing when it comes to God only. Mother can tell about father because she knows that. Similarly a saint whom we call Guru can tell us about God because he knows Him. Mother or father can not tell about God, because they don't know Him.
So if you want proof, go to a saint and not to ignorant people like us, who can only argue and counter argue.
By talking about God's existence or non-existence, we are only attempting to flaunt the limit of our intellect (read ignorance). We should know for sure that He is beyond the grasp of the biggest intellectual mind in the world.

Facts have to be proven beyond reproach. Opinions dont- so they are not facts until proven by some scientific or social methods. Your friend will be the best cook in your and maybe everyones opinion, but until she proves it by some sort of competition or is awarded some sort of recognition by a body recognised to do so, it will not be a fact. often people with good acumen or wisdom are employed to give their opinion and it is valued as a fact based on past records that whatever the person said in the present turned out to be right in the future- but even then before proving it is still an opinion- not a fact

I would think not, yet still I hear people saying how truth is different to everyone, personally I cannot understand that how can this be? Either something is true or it is not! Can we really make something true just by wanting it to be true or believing it is? Opinion cannot be fact unless it comes from facts, if someones opinion is not founded by knowledge of facts then it is a lie not fact.

Obviously it's an opinion but I bet if she had been the best cook on the face of the earth and it was written in a book 4000 years old then they would claim it to be fact.

Your opinion is a fact. Others probably do not share it, but you have it - that is a fact.
I'll go you one further - facts do not have to be The Truth. You can confirm that in a dictionary, as I have:
fact
5 : a piece of information presented as having objective reality

As a Deist, my belief in God is only a fact to one person:
Me.
Everyone else must decide for themselves what to belief or not to believe.

It's an opinion. and if someone else held the same belief, that just means they have the same opinion as you.

You know - you can take this and all other atheistic logic and turn it around on yourselves. So YOU answer this question for us.
Hbr 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
