We lost our identity in UK when we had an open door policy, and i doubt that the UN would be effective in combating the problems that we now face with mass immigration. They don't seem to be effective wherever they go. Our politicians have caused this problem its up to them to sort it out. Close the doors to more coming in for a start. And anyone that protests that they don't like the rules, laws of the country should go home. Not PC but that;s how i feel. We have been and are a soft touch and it's time for that to stop. We have seen the implications of mass immigration through our schools, police, housing who all need billions more in funding which the country doesn't have, and the social unrest is only going to get worse.

The crime rate is up and housing for local people is non existent, it is time the UK closed its doors.
Having said that, I don't mind living in a multi cultural society, I think it adds to our learning about other people and their customs, and not all foreigners are bad, but there doesn't seem to be any way to differentiate and stop the criminals from entering the country.
This is still the UK, and anyone who doesn't want to live by the law of the land should be sent packing.
I would start with the Medical profession, the Hippocratic Oath applies to everyone.
America and Australia were once the places we sent our criminals, a long time ago admittedly, most countries have immigrants of one type or another.

Widespread immigration into South Africa resulted in the people there being treated almost as slaves under the apartheid system.
In the USA and Australia the people who lived in those countries were almost wiped out by the settlers.
We can't undo the past so we'll just have to try to live together as best we can.

Outside of the continent of Europe, Is this question being addressed to:
A. Native American Red Indian Peoples?
B. Native South American Indian Peoples?
C. Native Aboriginal People of Australia?
D. Native Aboriginal People of New Zealand?
No nation has a "pure" identity we are and have always been influenced by a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic identity.
You will have to define your question better to get a more definite response, but if its an attempt to raise an anti-immigration rant it fails miserably.

In my parents' day, Canada was almost exclusively inhabited by British immigrants, French people who had been here for generations, and aboriginal people.
In my day, my country was enriched by all the people getting out of war-ravaged Europe and building a new life here.
Canada used to have a racist immigration policy, under the terms of which English-speaking and white immigrants were given top priority.
It was 1949 before ethnic Chinese Canadians were allowed to vote--even the ones who had been here for generations.
In other words, countries evolve and change.
They had better. In the US and Canada, the birth rate is not keeping up. We are an aging society, and the social cost of that in a few short years is going to be horrendous.
We need immigrants. Legal ones. People who live clean and decent lives, work hard, and pay taxes. Nearly everyone, in other words.
Social problems caused by immigrants are largely of our own making, arising from an inability to adapt to changes we don't like.
Are you old enough to remember Bob Dylan's song. "You'd better start swimming or you'll sink like a stone, for the times they are a-changin'."

Send the immigrants back. Stop giving them bank accounts, jobs and anything that has to do financially. From experience, there is identity theft, unpaid hospital bills, car accidents with no insurance. Theft, gangs, rape. A police friend told me that the highest percent of illigals captured have criminal records, get busted in a criminal act, then deported only to find them back in 2 weeks. What do we do with the hispanics? We bend to their needs. Now I see advertisement in spanish...wheres the english?? You want a job? Do you speak spanish? Even Gdamned disneyland has everything repeated in spanish....wheres the magic listening to that? It F'n ridiculous. My family came here from central america legaly and still do! So dont say i am racist. Its the true fact that hospitals are closing down because they cant refuse anyone, and either they dont pay or give a stolen identity as they have done to me. illigals are raping the system...they get all the help they need, but when someone like me needs help, the country i was born to doesnt look twice at me!

There seems to be higher crime rate in the UK and it's being committed by these immigrants. Of course back in their own countries the crime rate has dropped dramatically coz they are all over here.
