I'm not asking if there's evidence of a god. I'm asking if there's evidence (actual evidence) that the bible is the word of god.

Because if there isn't, how could you possibly believe that the bible was divinely written? I'm sure it has great spiritual lessons and stories that promote good moral values, but it also says that anyone who doesn't believe Jesus is the son of god is going to burn in eternal hellfire.

How can you make major life decisions and judgments of people based on a book that is quite possibly (and most likely) just the word of some guy that was really spiritual (Jesus) and some other ordinary guys. Seriously. I really want an answer to these questions.

Is there ANY hard evidence that the bible is actually the word of god? If you can prove it to me, I'll convert.

"Christianity...[has become] the most perverted system that ever shone on man....Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and imposters led by Paul, the first great corrupter of the teaching of Jesus." --- Thomas Jefferson

“The son-ship of Jesus Christ is the greatest fiction of human history.” (Lord Bishop of Canterbury Commission, the Spiritual Head of England, 1910.)

“The son-ship of Jesus Christ, the Trinity, the blood sacrifice of the lamb of God, atonement are not the teachings of Jesus. These are all inventions of Saint Paul who never really met Jesus.” (Hastings Rashdall, The Theory of Good and Evil)

"Initially there were 34 gospels that were compiled by word of mouth. Four were chosen for unclear reasons and 30 were left behind [burned]. (Encyclopedia Britannica)

“There is strong reason to believe that St. Paul fabricated the belief system of Christianity from Zoroastrian mythology. In order to hide Paul’s plaigerism… Christians burned the library of Alexandria in 390 A.D. Books in that library kept Mithra’s original story of what Pauline Doctrine is an almost exact copy. (George Sarton , Introduction to History of Sciences) ,

Although Nontrinitarian beliefs continued to multiply, and among some people (such as the Lombards in the West) it was dominant for hundreds of years afterward, the Trinitarians gained the immense power of the Roman Empire. Nontrinitarians typically argue that the primitive beliefs of the Christianity were systematically suppressed (often to the point of death), and that the historical record, perhaps also including the Scriptures of the New Testament, was altered as a consequence.

Look at the prophecies of the Bible. Check out when the different books were written and what they prophesied and when it was fulfilled. Isaiah, Micah, and the Psalms of the Old Testament prophesied the coming of the Messiah. The last one of these was written 400 years before Jesus the Messiah was born.

Ezekiel was written about 570 BC. It prophesied in chapters 36 and 37 the establishment of the Modern state of Israel. Check out the history of the Jewish people then read it. Your jaw will drop at its acurracy.

The Bible is full of stuff like that if you know history it's easier to see.

God says, "What God is like me ? Who speaks and then acts." That's paraphase.

Also, there has never been an archeological discovery the goes against the historical records of the Bible. In fact , many discoveries have been made by using what it said. Name's thought fictious in the Bible by archeologists have been by more recent discoveries, been proven accurate.

I find it amazing that a group of people over about 1700 years
(I can't remember the exact number of years) were so consistant in the message.

I know you aren't asking for evidence of God being real, but the reality is the real God himself by his Holy Spirit can give creedence to the Bible. I had a friend that became a Christian being ignorant of most of the Bible. She would say this week God is teaching me.... Then I would ask do you know where that is in the Bible? She would look at me like and ask, Really? It's in the Bible? Then I would show her and she was astounded and so was I. God by his Spirit was teaching her the very things He had recorded as a matter of testimony in the Bible.

What to read a book full of evidence? Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell is good. It's kind of a heavy detailed read but really good info.

By definition, the Bible is the word of God: but only the God of the Christians, a man-made concept.

Circular argument! But one used by the Christians as an unexpressed but understood axiom.

No. There is no hard evidence.

People believe in religions on faith.

I also find it somewhat disturbing that people use a 2,000 year old book to define what they consider morality, when human societies have already progressed past the war, violence, and tyranny of the ancient world.

The Bible was written by dozens of people, many of them unknown and long forgotten. It was compiled over hundreds of years and recorded the relationship of a small nation with the true and living God, culminating in His appearance on earth. Why do you think He decided to come in person?
