Well, you won't arrive by any legal means. They won't let you fly here without a proper visa. You won't cross the border without a visa at a check point.

Sooooo, I guess you'll have to sneak across with a coyote as your guide. After that, you'll have to get a phoney social security number and ID. Then...you can get a drivers license, and even work.

You may settle in, and even marry an american and have kids. Later, when you are caught, you can tell all of us how you work, contribute, and "ain't it unfair that your spouse and child have to suffer?"

I think I've covered this pretty good, when do I get "best answer"?

If you are a US citizen you will be brought into an office at the border crossing (assuming you cross at a highway with a reasonably large station) and questioned for a period. They may call local records offices to prove your citizenship (find out if you have a valid birth certificate for example). If you are a citizen you will eventually be allowed entry.

If, as your post implies, you are not a US citizen, and you aren't driving in from Canada with a birth certificate and photo ID (The only valid way without a passport), you will be turned away. If you attempt to drive through, the border patrol will chase you down and arrest you.

Depending on which country you are a citizen of - you may be allowed to stay . . . Some countries do have reciprocal agreements and treaties with the USA in which the citizens can pass freely into the USA with only a passport and if the passport is lost they will allow you to get a passage permit from that country's embassy in the USA . . .
It would require that you stay at the airport until such document is issued but it can be done . . .
There are certain other countries from which you could arrive and declare yourself as a refugee and seek political asylum but that is complicated and would probably require that you be incarcerated until your refugee status is confirmed . . . That usually takes about three months and if not proven - you'd be sent back, immediately . . .

Its not a good way to come to the US. You will have to live in substandard housing. Probably jammed into a garage and sleeping on the floor with ten other families. Work for cash in jobs were you are expoited. You will never fit in because you will never learn English and all its metaphors. Basically, you will be pittied because he will be treat like a subhuman. And, the liberals in this country will take pitty on you and prevent what should happen to illegal aliens. They should be treated as criminals and sent back home.

The immigration officers have the right (and the duty and the responsibility) to deny you entry to the country.

Your question is moot anyway--you need to show a passport and visa to the airline clerk before you get a boarding pass.

You will need a passport to get on a plane to the US. You aren't able to fly without a passport. They check it when you "check in".
