I am wondering if it is okay with the administration for me to get involved with a teacher at a community college? I keep hearing that it is allowable as long as I am not dating him at the same time that I am his student. However, is it TECHNACHILY OKAY BUT SERIOUSLY FROWNED UPON BY THE ADMINISTRATION? There is this [SINGLE!!!] teacher who I talk to sometimes. I AM NOT IN HIS CLASS!!! However, it has been a year since we met and he has not asked me out. Could it be because he is WORRIED about getting in trouble?

NOTE: I AM NOT IN HIS CLASS!!! HE IS SINGLE!!! WE OFTEN CHAT!!!

If anyone has any stories or examples that they could share, I would really appreaciate it. I want to know if I am wasting my time waiting for him to ask me out.

Thank you for whatever you can do for me.

I went to UC Riverside. One of the students actually fell in love with her math teacher -- however it wasn't until the class was long over and she was no longer his student. Once she was no longer his student, nobody cared and they stayed together and eventually got married. This really isn't the administration's business unless they were seeing each other at the time of the class and it was found out. Then it would be a conflict of interest - in which case I wouldn't blame them for being involved. But other than that, in your case, love should never be frowned upon and everyone should mind their own business.

if you are not a student in his class then they dont really have anything to say (unless of course there is a problem with ages ie one of you are underage) --- otherwise its not really any of their business ----- why would the administration frown upon it????
