A 14 year old boy is still just that, a boy! He still has a lot of growing up to do. It sounds as though this 19 year old girl does too. I don't think it's a good idea for anything to come of this "relationship". It's very unlikely that the boy will still be the exact same person he is now when he is 18. I'd say the girl should look for someone closer to her own age. That kind of age difference is fine when you're older, IE 25 and 30, but right now it is totally inappropriate!

Well this is a difficult question to answer, so let's tackle this from several sides. Legally: Technically, as long as there is no sex involved, then it is legal. However, if you are having sexual relations and you reside in a state where the age of consent is 16 or older, than your courting is illegal. He can be prosecuted for statutory rape, even if you say it is consentual. So - my advice is to look up age of consent in the state in which you live. Morally: You ask if it is okay if you are four years apart. Sure, it is perfectly fine to be 4 years apart. But what raises concern is the fact that you are 15. It would be a different story if you were 21 and he were 25 - but that is not the case. Everyone has different morals and for that reason many will argue wheather it is "right" or not, but ultimatly you must decide that. Situation: What also needs to be taken into consideration is the situation. Simply is a "good" guy or a "bad boy"? Does he stay close to family, honor and respect his elders? Or is he a "rebel" that does drugs, parties, drinks, and stays out late? Furthermore, is this a person you just met, or have you known each other for years? If you've known each other for a long time and you know his family and history, than it would be an entirely different situation than if you just met him. Parents: You really should tell your parents. You should do it casually- no major sit down talk; that would only build things up and if their reaction is negative, the climax of the situation could prove volatile. If after considering all of the above factors you choose to still date this man, then you need to discuss it with your parents. Introduce him to your parents and make sure that they approve of him. I know you probably won't want to, but your parents are forever and boys come and go; you need to still have good standings and a good relationship with your parents. So make sure that he does not create or encourage a rift between you and your parents.

Anything is possible. The 19year old is probably just desperate and lonely, and this 14year old has given her some ray of hope. She actually just needs some help, or a man her age that will treat her right. I know that no girl will wait 4 years for a guy, that's like going through high school with him.
