It's my 1st time in NYC and I am no stranger to taxi's I was just wondering how much i should be looking at...

$18 shutlle to 42nd St
$2 to take bus Q33 than catch subway #7

Taxis still use the meter from Laguardia (the $45 flat rate to anywhere in Manhattan is from JFK). With average traffic the meter will probably be in the $25 to $30 range. Add the $4.50 bridge or tunnel toll and a tip (usually $5 to $10). Heavy traffic will make it steeper.

I heard it was $45 from Laguardia to anywhere in the city but that was awhile ago so I'd expect to pay $50 and up. Also, when night falls, it goes up more. I would talk to your hotel or a cab company for a quote.
