I deal with the same thing sometimes too with my fiance. So I know how you feel, you're not really pissed off at him, no, instead your self esteem is brought down, right? Well when my fiance acts like that with me, I feel like crap for a while.
Maybe what you should do is just try to ignore him.
Personally I tell my man that if he sees all these flaws in me, then he should try to find someone better, which he knows he won't.
Just tell him that it makes you feel bad and really sad. If he has a heart, he'll apologize.
Hope this advice helps...I know how you feel.

He does that because he feels inadequate himself. People tend to lash out on other people's character or physical appearance when they are not happy with themselves. So since your probably the one closest to him at this point and time, your going to be the one to catch all his remarks and hidden feelings coming out. Maybe couples counseling might help him to cope and deal with his feeling/emotions in a more positive way. Or atleast teach him to vent in a more better way and not on you. Don't take on this negativity if he wont change, stress (which your probably experiencing) is a traumatic experience and sometimes we as people don't even realize that we are stressing. It can have short and long term effects physically. So take care of yourself and good luck.

I think you need to end the engagement. If he's like this now, he will get much, much worse when you marry. If other people think you're neat and he's putting you down, he's not rational and may become violent later. Talk to a domestic violence hotline about what he does and take their advice.

You really need to tell him that this bothers you. You don't have to put up with behavior like that. Don't become a door mat for this man. If you don't put a stop to it now, you'll end up miserable.

he should love you the way you are and he knew how you were before you got engaged so if he's expecting you to change i'd dump in a heart beat theres someone that would love everything about you.

talk to him about it. find out whats going on. ask him is he trying to break up with you or hurt you by critisizing and using any little excuse not to be close to you.give eachother some space apart.
