2 3 section staff combo?

i want to do bostaff, 2 section, 3 section staff. i'm thinking of buying a combo staff that can be changed from a long staff into a 3 section & 2 section staff. the mechanism consists of pulley & locking systems with metal chains. u unlock pull to get the 3section staff, and press release to get back the long staff. anyone know where can one get such a fantastic weapon

It won't hold up to pounding on someone--to do what you want the walls of the staff would either have to be fairly thin causing "beer canning", or you'd have to make it out of some seriously, seriously expensive metals.

There apparently are some plastics that will do the job using a pool-que like join, but they're about 100 dollars a foot.

I have seen nunchaku like that and they are pretty much worthless. They don't hold up very well and are not as good as the real thing. I would have to agree that it would not be very durable or hold up to any kind of long term wear and tear and you would be better off getting each weapon individually.
