I thought we would've grown out of it by now. I guess we're on our way, at least.

Yes, kids are being indoctrinated, but the global IQ is also steadily on the rise, and while religion is slowly declining, why can't there be a point when everyone remembers that they've been fed bullcrap since they were young and embrace science?

I just can't fathom how full grown adults can believe in fairy tales. I can safely say I'm smarter than 80% of the world, I guess.

There are far more religious people than people who share your view. So if you're so much more aware of the great truth than the vast majority of earth's population, why are you flipping burgers and whining ineffectually instead of sitting on a throne, eh, Mr. Ultimate Wisdom? I'll tell you why--it's because you really have nothing, NOTHING to bring to the discussion but your own doubts and presumptions! You just can't get it through your little McMind, can you, that a great many people have actually *experienced* God's presence, firsthand. Who are you to tell us that our experiences are false, based solely on your own doubts? Just because you're crippled, you presume to tell us that we can't walk? What childish arrogance!

P.S. No, I don't want fries with that!

I think the delay has been a decided one propagated by political leadership.

It's clear that a religiously engrossed society is easy to lead around by the nose by simply pushing its most desired hot-buttons and making appeasing concessions for it's ideas of fantasy. This can be evidenced by looking at countries like Israel, Iraq, Iran and other mono-religion dominated cultures. The former religious monarchies of Europe were perfect examples of this. In the US where there is only a two party system, both parties have waltzed the theists and romanced them for their support, recognizing the power of their block voting habits.

It is good, however, to see that the recent trends showing a decline of religious voter influence has finally taken hold and that the grass-roots growth of non-religious voters has risen. It is also good to see that there is at least some small movement away from religious lead third world governments.

I guess becasue many people are realizing that pushing God out of our lives is only sending the world to hell in a handbasket.

So I suppose we haven't progressed to your level of "intelligence".........and I use that term loosely because we still reply of God and trust in His word.

I'd like to hear how it all works out for you in ....lets' say about 200 years or so?

You have a nice life , my friend

It is called indoctrination. As a child you believe what your parents tell you, some become more inquisitive and find real answers, other continue to follow blindly.

See homeland security for a perfect example, the world is certainly 6000 years old.

Meld together population explosion and mandatory childhood indoctrination by parents.
That's what keeps the deluded in numbers BUT atheism is gaining ground fast.

Because its hard to move on from old ideas. Its like racism, sexism and most forms of hate. They become part of our society and only through time do they become extinct. I think in time we will learn to grow up and stop believing the fairy tales our ancestors have passed down! One day!!! lol
