I almost chuckled when I read your post! I thought I was crazy once, but then I decided that I am probably the sanest of the bunch, in my family growing up!
You know, I don't know what "normal" is anymore. I will tell you, though, that if we worry about being crazy, we are probably more sane than the folks who deny any mental health issues, or deny life in general!

you definately have to have been there to know the difference. if you know you're going crazy than you aren't insane. if you are insane, u dont know any better.
insanity - doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. if you know you do this than you can do something about it and become sane.
most dont even bother to change their circular patterns of insanity so YES, i agree with you.
you have to know one to know the other.
