Jesus is "the angel of the abyss".
Jesus is the king of these "locusts".

(Revelation 1:18) I became dead, but, look! I am living forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

(Revelation 20:1-3) And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. And he hurled him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him

(Genesis 3:14-15) And Jehovah God proceeded to say to the serpent: “...I shall put enmity between you and [my organization] and between your seed and her seed [to be Jesus, primarily]. He will bruise you in the head [leading to your death] and you will bruise him in the heel [a death of three days].”

(Revelation 9:11) They have over them a king, the angel of the abyss.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that these locusts figuratively represent their own preaching work under the earthly leadership of anointed Christians, and especially their organized global effort which began in the early 1920's (following a period of relative inactivity). The adherents of ostensible Christendom continue to be disturbed by the sting of Jehovah's Witnesses' message of bible truth, while those already "sealed" are untroubled by this global evangelizing work.

(Revelation 9:1-11) And the fifth angel blew his trumpet. And I saw a star that had fallen from heaven to the earth, and the key of the pit of the abyss was given him. 2 And he opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke ascended out of the pit as the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun was darkened, also the air, by the smoke of the pit. 3 And out of the smoke locusts came forth upon the earth; and authority was given them, the same authority as the scorpions of the earth have. 4 And they were told to harm no vegetation of the earth nor any green thing nor any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And it was granted the locusts, not to kill them, but that these should be tormented five months, and the torment upon them was as torment by a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6 And in those days the men will seek death but will by no means find it, and they will desire to die but death keeps fleeing from them. 7 And the likenesses of the locusts resembled horses prepared for battle; and upon their heads were what seemed to be crowns like gold, and their faces were as men’s faces, 8 but they had hair as women’s hair. And their teeth were as those of lions; 9 and they had breastplates like iron breastplates. And the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running into battle. 10 Also, they have tails and stings like scorpions; and in their tails is their authority to hurt the men five months. 11 They have over them a king, the angel of the abyss. In Hebrew his name is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

I wish people could get it straight in their minds, that 'literal' truth is not the same as 'TRUTH'. The Bible is of course true, and honest. But, we don't live in a day where everyone believes, 'if it is written, it has to be true'.

The book of Revelation is about the Bible. It's not a book about world events. It shows in symbol form what the Bible should contain, like a table of contents, or an index.

There are stories in the Bible, about people who bicker, and pester Christians with sharp questions designed to sting, or irritate the Christian. That's what the locusts are. Some frequent this site.

By the way, the first seal, that is opened, is the book of Matthew, and the second is the book of Mark, then Luke, then John and then Acts. See how simple it is, when you know the truth? Nothing exciting at all, just more reference material for young Christians to study.

Revelation is not a Ouija Board, and you're not a seer. Stop prognosticating, it doesn't help anyone.

No.

They are the 144,000 kings.

Revelation 9:4 indicates that the locust sting "only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads," as a prelude of their eventual destruction.

That means that the stinging takes place after the final sealing of the anointed occurs; some time after the opening of the 6th seal, which is during the time of tribulation.

If the locust only sting those without the seal, it is evident that those doing the stinging are themselves the sealed ones.

Too, since the locust themselves are portrayed as wearing crowns of gold and have over them a king, it is evident that those locust-like creatures are the sealed anointed ones, who at that point will have been given their kingdom, in company with Christ their king.

No, it grew to become into termed locusts using its multitudes. If is grew to become right into a real locust, then it grew to become into magnificent that it grew to become into ordered to not harm the grass. It defined the Persians military annihilating the Byzantine Roman Empires centuries formerly and in the present day after the introduction of Islam. The Persian conflict machines then have been very state-of-the-artwork and that they've been common to had led to a great form of menaces to the Empire.Their very final attack had reason the Empire to fairly much crumple yet just to be saved by skill of the church gold and adorns which grew to become into melted right down to finance conflict. The have been finally crushed by skill of the Byzantine and grew to become into compelled to provide up a great areas they conquered. Their very final blow got here whilst the Muslims overrun their territory and their chief-Abaddon killed. The defeat additionally had led to the loss of life of their faith and the fire which has been un-extinguished for one million,000 years.

Interesting idea, but for one thing. Coming up out of the abyss seems to be from the spiritual realm of the enemy.
Would that be helicopters? Otherwise I get how the rest of the description fits. Oh, and only harming certain people and not property? I am unaware of any technology from a helicopter that can do that. At least not yet.

The truth isnt nearly as exciting but its still the truth. Those locusts represent the hordes of Muslim invaders of their three major invasions of the ancient Roman Empire.

They eventually conquered the eastern Roman Empire and it became known as the Ottoman Turkish Empire based in Constantinople (Istanbul today).

I hate to burst your bubble but the events in Revelation were fulfilled many centuries ago.

No. The end times will occur in the 25th Century. The locusts are Finmer gravidrone spygoids. The stings are their outboard GGR spindles. They don't look anything like helicopters.

John chose one of Moses’ plagues to illustrate a very destructive force of human nature:

Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast: And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field: …And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. (Exodus 10:4–5, 13)

These “locusts” are the kings, presidents, popes, priests, general authorities, worldly leaders, and any other humans who control the actions of their followers and subjects, either by teaching or by command. They are “given power” by those who follow (“tail”) them whether by devotion or decree. A tail always follows the commands of the creature, and in the case of “scorpions,” it has a devastating sting. With the power given them, and their proficiency in manipulating those who follow or who are otherwise compelled to execute their commands, these leaders have caused incredible sorrows and torments upon the earth by using their “tails” to hurt and torment others.

Past prophets used the same symbolisms:

And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. (Isaiah 7:4)

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, for they are a rebellious house, yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. (Ezekiel 2:5–7)

9:3 And there came out of the smoke locusts and they went out upon the earth; and unto them was given power, and their power was in their tails, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
