America has some stunning landscapes, national parks, mountains, deserts, cities like NY and Chicago, Beaches and deserts. You can buy cake pieces as large as you head, go to rodeos, visit Graceland, Smithssonian, Monument Valley. Drink watery beer, eat great icecream. Drive for as long as one likes.
Get trashed in N'oleans.
Sure the hassles are increasing, you border guards rude and think that I am an overstaying welfare sucking terroist drug dealer but is a huge country with many contrasts.

For the same reason that Americans go to other countries for vacation. For a change in scenery and pace. To go where you've never gone before. There are many beautiful places here in the United States. Gosh and there is so much to chose from. The prestigious Rocky Mountains. The beaches of Florida. Major shopping in New York. California dreaming in Disneyland. Casino nights in Las Vegas. The beauty of the Oregon coast and Columbia Gorge. Partying in New Orleans and the Yee Haw of Texas. Gee I could come up with so much more. I hope I gave a good answer.

Because America holds a fascination to people in the rest of the world like no other place does. People in other lands may put us down and condemn us, but they would grab a Green card in a New York minute and migrate there without a second thought. I've lived all over the globe for the past 20 years. America, in spite of her faults, is still the best game in town when it comes to human rights, living conditions and just about everything else. And now, with the Dollar at a low, it is a cheap vacation choice for just about everybody.

could be the Amusement parks. I always see people of all ethnicicities at Cedar Point (the only reason anyone from the U.S. other than an Ohioan would visit Ohio :p).
Or it could be the diversity in culture, food, etc. Or our history or our freedom. I don't know. I'd rather travel to get out of the U.S for a while, though. I'd love to see Tokyo or Amsterdam. They should be...interesting:p

Many people visit the States to see our National Park Service properties. There are 57 or so national parks and roughly 400 additional NPS administered sites which have designations such as National Historical Sites, National Seashores etc. We also have several world class cities. And finally, many visit here to witness life in a free society.

Well for people who would like to see what American shopping and theaters are like you have New York. Maybe some one would like to see our White House. Or What about our caves, Like Carlsbad or mammouth. And then we have the Alamo, Yellowstone Park,(the geysers) Florida, Georgia Plantations, San Francisco, Appalachian Mountains, Indian reservations, and that's only to name a very few things that might be interesting to some one from another country. There are plenty more. Since they are from over seas, chances are they have already seen most of the sights over there.

For one thing, you get a lot for the dollar in the US. The people are nice, there is a diversity of culture, so one matter where you come from, you will always fit in. The cities might not have as much history as European cities but they are beautiful places to visit. Take Las Vegas for example, who in the world wouldn't like to visit the sin city.

If you eat gourmet food for every meal, every day, wouldn't it be nice to have a greasy fast food burger every now and again? It is a matter of perspective. Why go to a tropical beach for vacation if you live on a tropical beach? Also America has TONS of things that other countries do not, or at least not as many of them or of such good quality. Take amusement parks, for example.

Well, I think people from 'Western' countries go to the USA to see places like Disneyland, Hollywood etc. It's the hype and publicity of the 'biggest' country in the world.
People from other cultures go for those same reasons, and also to see a different lifestyle and culture.
For me, coming from a 'Western' culture, the US holds no attraction .. no offence intended. I just prefer to spend my money experiencing very different cultures.

Most Brits come to Florida for the amusement parks, but a lot come for the outdoors too. Skiing in Vermont and Colorado, hiking in Yosemite or Yellowstone, sightseeing in one of many big cities. America has a lot to offer, and the current exchange rate makes it a very cheap holiday for those coming from Europe/UK!
