You don't need to be a denomination!! It is irrelevant! All you need to be is a follower of Christ Jesus. It would be nice if you could fellowship with fellow Christians, but you need not pick a denomination.
I am non-denominational and attend a non-denominational church.
EDIT
If you want one, you need to research the beliefs of each denomination and find out which ones belief matches more closely to what you believe. Each church usually has a statement of faith, this is where you will find out what they believe.
Just remember, a religion or tradition is not important. Your RELATIONSHIP with Christ Jesus is what is important!

I would not concern yourself with determining your denomination. When you except Jesus as your savior, you were welcomed into God's family. When you go to heaven there will be no, baptist, Pentecostal, catholic etc. You will be a child of God. I would however encourage you to find a church family to study with, fellowship with and to help you on your walk. The one thing I like about denominations is this: A denominational church has governing bodies overseeing what is taught (both good and bad). If a pastor is off teaching something "wacky" The board will meet with him and offer teaching and counseling. Most non-denominational Church's have no accountability beyond it's own members.

The Protestant approach is to decide what you want to believe, and then find a denomination that teaches what you want to hear. If you disagree with something your church teaches, you just move on until you find one that teaches your particular set of beliefs. Jesus prophecied that this would occur (2 Tim 4:3), and stated His divine will that it should not occur ("that they all may be one").

If you really follow Jesus, the Christ, as your Saviour and teacher, then you do not "need" to attend any church at all. Unless you simply wish to be SEEN as being a "Christian".... There is a huge difference between merely being seen as a "Christian" and actually being one. Remember, Jesus said to paray in secret, as God will reward you in secret - meaning that if you pray loudly, or in public, so that all those around you KNOW that you are praying, you are NOT doing as Jesus told you.
Forget about showing how "righteous" you are by joining a church. Just show what you really believe by doing as Jesus taught/commanded you to - EVERTHING he taught/commanded, not just what you happen to agree with or what others say you must do. You will know when you are doing this - and so will your God, and that is what truly matters.

Don't worry about it.
Just realize that without a lifetime of full and active participation in all of the work, worship, sacraments, and devotions of the authentic and universal church, it's highly unlikely you'll ever achieve the destiny that God created you for, and you may also have a lot of explaining to do, come Judgment Day.

There are none in Scripture. You are a part of the Body of Christ, which is Biblically what the church is.And in these Last Days I would be very wary of joining any "church".

You need to look, listen, visit and pray. You also need to study up and know what you believe. Visit churches and listen to what is taught. Do they teach the Bible? Is the style of worship one that appeals to you? Most of all, pray and seek God's guidance so that you go to that fellowship of believers that He wants you to go to so that your gifts may be used best. God bless.

You say that you are a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, then you belong to His Church and no others. i.e. Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, ( these words are meant for you personally as Jesus is a personal God.) That thou art Peter,( and you can put your name here too instead of Peter's.) and upon this rock (You are one of the stones of His Church He is building right now.) I will build MY Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Because The true church of God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, lays within the hearts and minds of all the men, women and children throughout the whole world who willingly let Him in their hearts and where the might and powers of Satan and men who Satan works through cannot get at it. It is not a building of cold stones and mortar nor a money making institution of calloused administrators and professors, it is alive and well, catholic yet hidden and even the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. So go my friend go! AMEN! Thank You Jesus! CHURCH'S = individuals who willingly let Him enter into them, as our hearts and minds are His Temple, and we are the temples host.
