Yes, because in this small town it is hard to find a religion that fits what I believe in. Purity of worship. I want to worship the way Jesus did. I keep visiting churches in this area and they either have people who are teaching things I do not agree with. Example: replacement theology, or they are OK with "dead religion". This means to me that the religion does not seek the truth! They are content to worship in the traditions of man instead of the way the Lord wants us to.

May the Lord bless you!

In High School and College a lot, sometimes at work.
Light does not fellowship with darkness.
I would rather be issolated than fellowship with darkness,
yet hopefully being a light to those who can see and
hear the Lord. We can even feel issolated when
being around others who are not like minded.
It is worth it, both for my growth (Jesus
had to issolate himself to speak to the Father and be
ministered to by angels during his Earthly ministry) and also as a witness to others. Isolated yet with joy overflowing - not isolated all the time, though, sometimes finding solice and
encouragement with like minded individuals (including
my husband, my best friend)

Hi Drew,

Yes.

The latest episode was one week ago. Our Synod, Lutheran Church Canada, encouraged all congregations to participate in a "National Open House" last Sat. and Sun. We advertised, planned activities, got snacks and beverages, motivated congregational participation, put a sign up, and were located on a busy side street that leads to the Farmers Market just a few blocks up the road in a small city of about 40,000. We were there from 9:00am to 1:00 pm.

No one came.

Mark

Isolated in terms of what is popular, yes. Felt alone throughout my life? Nope. Psalms 23.

Well, a tad bit. I mean, the number of CRs in the state, I can probably count on one hand. And that's including all of NYC. And counting myself.

That said, other than issues with finding co-religionists, no, it's not terribly isolating.

All the time. Since I do not follow what is considered to be the "correct" religious path in my community, I am treated with disdain, scorn and a severe lack of respect by certain folks in this area - even though they CLAIM to share all of the same important, core beliefs as I do.

Christianity, unfortunately, seems to see other religions as "wrong" - and will sometimes kill you to prove it. Most of time, though, Christianity simply persecutes you until you either move away or kill yourself. In all cases, they say that they have "won the battle against evil"...yet they do nothing to fight the evil within themselves.

Like, as in a desert isolated? Or marooned on an island isolated? Or in a jungle lost sort of isolated? Or perhaps as in: "they must think I've died" isolated? Or...yeah, I'm a geek. I admit it.

I think every christian feels this way. The reason we feel this way is we live in a fallen world. The world is for the most part not a place where God is held above the pleasures and pursuits of carnal man.

Oh hell yes. On the ship, there were only 2-5 of us that showed up every week for services.

Hmm... to some extent, I suppose. It doesn't bother me that much; I don't expect everyone to believe the same things as I do, in fact I'd be somewhat alarmed if that was the case.
