GOD IS NOT GOING TO DESTROY THE EARTH, THE EARTH SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE WILL BECOME A GARDEN OF EDEN OR PARADISE WHERE PEOPLE CAN LIVE IN PEACE & SECURITY.
ARMAGEDDON IS SIMPLY HIS WAR TO CLEAN THE EARTH OF WICKED PEOPLE & ALL BAD THINGS THAT EXIST, & PEOPLE WHOSE WORSHIP IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HIM.
Why, though, would God wage a global war? Armageddon is closely related to one of his cardinal qualities, justice. The Bible declares: “God is a lover of justice.” He has seen all the acts of injustice perpetrated during man’s history. This naturally provokes his righteous displeasure. Thus, he has appointed his Son to wage a just war in order to do away with this entire wicked system.
Only God is capable of waging a truly just and truly selective war during which righthearted individuals, wherever they may be on earth, will be preserved. ) And only he has the right to impose his sovereignty over all the earth, for it is his creation.
What about survivors? Indeed, no one needs to perish at Armageddon. The apostle Peter observed: “God, does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” And the apostle Paul stated that God’s “will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”
Consider the good Har–Magedon promises to achieve, godly humanity’s peaceful future on this planet, no more pollution, no more war, no more poverty, no more disease or even death. God promises: “Look! I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:3,4
The one's living in a Paradise Earth will be the survivors of Armageddon, and the one's that will be resurrected & obey the rules that are layed out by Jesus Christ.

Armageddon will be a worldwide battle that will start around the mountains of Meggido. This battle will be between Jesus and his angels against all the evil forces of Earth, visible and invisible. The Bible says that 1000 people will fall to our right and 1000 to our left, but no harm will be brought upon us.

I am not sure...so I am going to lead my life according to God's words just in case. I have read so much on belief and non-belief regarding this subject. Much of it is left to interpretation of the writer and the reader. Whatever it is and whenever it is I believe we will become all knowing, but it will not really matter to us. It is like a great mystery and at the end we will know the answers to what the have thought to be the most important things in life...but then...life as we know it will be over and therefore it will not really matter. Are you ready for it????

There seems to be scriptural indication of it being a two year period. The last year is going to be worldwide war perhaps with different small nations going at it, instead of two main parties in a world war (?).
The killing will be done by, war, disease, hunger, natural disasters, and finally by Christ, his Saints, and the angels.
The ones harvested, the survivors, will enter into Paradise.
The remainder of those surviving the human terrors will be killed if they are goats as just mentioned by the heavenly forces. This killing. one of the small prophets indicate, will be done by a terrible flesh eating disease -- of course, other means may be used.

Since it's a man made foretelling then whatever you think it's going to be like sweetie. It only exists in the minds of individuals that feed off the thought of "evil" humans and "persecutors of the christian faith" being tortured and the world ending, so that you can be rewarded for all of your so called suffering.
