Being politically correct is something that basically means you need to watch your p's and q's when speaking on most any subject.

It's politically incorrect to say things such as any racial slurs, or being demeaning to any one race, or someone with disabilities.

A good example may be calling someone "retarded". There's a new term for that to be politically correct, so you would say that the person was "mentally challenged."

Calling someone retarded is now politically incorrect.

Instead of saying someone is "crazy" or "nuts" you would say that they have a "mental illness."

Being politically correct basically means you conform to the new "words" or "phrases" for different groups of people.

Hope that made sense!
:)
Good luck!

political correctness is society's ultimate attempt at trying to avoid the tyranny of the majority, and failing miserably.

it is the fact that my "ethnic" friends can call each other "brown", my gay friends can call each other "f*g", and i can call my girlfriends "whore", but if a rich white straight man says any of these things, they can charge him with verbal harrassment.

"Politically correct" speech is that which is politic; that is, it conforms to certain standards, as if the First Amendment to the Constitution had been repealed.
