I know that mineral oil can be bad (that's why I stopped using the clean and clear oil sheets and powder with mineral oil in it). The body lotion I use now has mineral oil in it...should I stop using the lotion and seek an alternative, or is it okay when applied as a lotion?

I sometimes have acne on my shoulders, but I use a benzoyl peroxide soap for that, so I should be okay to keep using the lotion anyway, right?

There is nothing wrong with using Mineral Oil on your skin, unless you have oily or acne-prone skin. If you have dry skin, Mineral Oil is great for your skin. There's a cosmetic company that is spreading false rumors about the oil, that's probably why you were told it's bad.

Yes! Use real plant oils - they are great even with acne if you find the right one. Tamanu, rosehip, sea buckthorn, neem are all great oils. Mineral oil is nasty, and there isn t just ONE company saying this- it s everyone who is mindful of what they put on their body. even if mineral oil is completely safe it offers no benefit whatsoever and it s heavy and slick. For acne I would recommend a dry oil like those I listed above. The reason mineral oil is used is because it s CHEAP. so companies make more profits. I make and sell my own skin care and ever since I stopped using things like mineral oil and sodium laureth sulphate (use real soap that I make from scratch now cold process) my skin has never looked better.
Also for acne try raw honey. NOT processed honey bc often that has high fructose corn syrup. When I tried conventional honey I broke out all over. Raw honey is completely different. It takes care of my eczema/SD also.

Everything you need to know about mineral oil: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ingredient.php?ingred06=703977&refurl=%2Fwordsearch.php%3Fquery%3Dmineral+oil%26

If you're prone to acne you might want to avoid using it. Another lotion could do just as good a job and not cause breakouts! :O)

If you use it on your body vs. your face, and it works for you, then go right ahead.
Mineral oil is not good for most people's face because it is an oil; but works OK with the skin of the body.
[ Do NOT use if you have any body acne. ]
