A fantastic invention. Used by the poor, me, and college students. A dried square of noodles that you break apart and boil in water, then add the seasoning (Steak, Shrimp, Chicken, Pork, etc.) and then stir and enjoy.

Ramen noodles are available in any supermarket and have become a staple of fast lunches or snacks. They are a thin rice noodles usually accompanied by soup ingredients. Just add water, microwave for a minute or so and then sit down and enjoy. They're easy on the stomach, on the pocketbook and have great appeal.

it is like long wavy japanese spaghetti noodles that boil up in 3 minutes. After you boil them in a cup of water, you add the contents of the seasoning packet that came with the noodles, and eat them.
I eat them with fresh lime juice, and hot sauce. I also like them with steamed pork dumplings if I am lucky enough to have those around.
Go to Ramen.com . Database of millions of uses for ramen...
It is so commonly consumed all over the world. We buy a bunch of packets of it when it goes on sale (8 CENTS per packet!).
It isn't that healthy...really high in sodium...it has MSG, and it isn't low in fat, either.
If you don't mind subtitles, or Japanese movies, check out the movie "Tampopo". It is about a gal who opens her own noodle bar in Japan. Funny. It'll make you want to go out and buy ramen.

Deep fried japanese noodles. High in fat (noodles) and high in sodium (seasoning packet) very very cheap. You can usually find them in about a dozen different flavors and cost about a dime per package.
Usually makes a soup but the boiled noodles can be used in salads too like Chinese chicken salad
When I have the weakness, then I like to add a load of veggies and meat to it the broth.

They are noodles with practically no taste.
They remind me of making papier mache
and smell that way, too.
For flavor, they have these little packets
that have a touch of flavor
and more sodium than say, either the Dead Sea
or the Great Salt Lake.
I haven't checked the carb count on them,
mainly because I tried to eat some
one time & I gagged
for about an hour.
Yuck.

Dry long noodles in packets, usually they have a seasoning packet with them. They're quick cooking, really cheap, and they do taste pretty good, but salty.
It's a teenager, and college student's dream!

They're basically a block of dried noodles that you boil water and then mix it in with them, and then add flavorings (beef, chicken, etc).
