If Jesus is shown to be "the Alpha and Omega" and "the Fist and the Last," while JW Bible also says Jehovah is " the Alpha and Omega" and "the First and the Last", the Jehovah's Witnesses must admit that Jesus Christ is the Almighty God - or else close eyes to the Word of God.

Rev 1:7-8 says that someone "is coming" Who? Verse 7 says it is someone who was "pierced". Who was pierced when he was nailed up to die" Could it be that that there are two who are coming? No! Verse 8 refers to "the One who ...is coming."

Rev 1:8 states clearly that Jehovah God is the Alpha and Omega. Now that he says at Rev 22:12-13: " ' Look! I am coming quickly..I am the Alpha and Omega, the fist and the last...' " so, Jehovah God is coming quickly. But notice the response when he says it again? " ' Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen! Come Lord Jesus ' " ( 22:20 NWT )

Read also Col 2:9 " it is in him that all the fullness of the divine quality dwells bodily " NWT. Or, according to the NIV " For in Christ all the fullness of Deity lives in bodily form."

How, then, are we to understand the words of Revelation 1:7? There the apostle John writes: “Look! He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, and those who pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief because of him.” Here the Bible speaks of seeing, not with physical eyes, but in the sense of discerning or perceiving. Thus, when a person comprehends or understands a matter, he may say, ‘I see it.’ The Bible, in fact, speaks of “the eyes of your understanding.” (Ephesians 1:18, King James Version) So the expression “every eye will see him” means that everyone will then understand or recognize that Christ is present.

While many commentators apply this title both to God and to Christ, a more careful examination of its use restricts its application to Jehovah God. The first verse of Revelation shows that the revelation was given originally by God and through Jesus Christ, hence the one speaking at times is God himself, and at other times it is Christ Jesus. (Re 22:8) Thus Revelation 1:8 (RS) says: “‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Although the preceding verse speaks of Christ Jesus, it is clear that in verse 8 the application of the title is to “the Almighty” God. In this regard Barnes’ Notes on the New Testament (1974) observes: “It cannot be absolutely certain that the writer meant to refer to the Lord Jesus specifically here,There is no real incongruity in supposing, also, that the writer here meant to refer to God as such.”

The title “the Alpha and the Omega” carries the same thought as “the first and the last” and “the beginning and the end” when these terms are used with reference to Jehovah. Before him there was no Almighty God, and there will be none after him. He will bring to a successful conclusion the issue over Godship, forever vindicated as the one and only Almighty God.

English 101

If Jesus was giving the Revelation to John about himself then he would use the word "I" or "ME".

Instead Rev 1:1 says it is Jehovah God via Angel that is giving the Revelation about Jesus, thus we read "HIM" or "HE".

Rev 1:7 Behold, "HE" cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see "HIM", and they [also] which pierced "HIM": and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of "HIM". Even so, Amen.

Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega....the Almighty.

Who is I?

Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which "God" gave unto him

Answer: Jehovah God.

If you can get a hold of the " Transliteration of the Greek Scriptures ". Which is a word for word translation from Greek to English you will find out that in verse eight where it says," saith the Lord " It's actually translated "says Jehovah" Which is Jesus father talking at that time.
It's translated that way in the King James version so the church can teach the trinity doctrine. Jesus has many titles such as Teacher, Rabbi, Lord, Father, King, King of kings and so on . But one title he does not have is the Almighty God. Only Jehovah God holds that title.

The churches continue to try to teach the trinity by calling both Jehovah and Jesus Lord so you think your talking to one person in the same.
But they run into some big trouble with that at Psalms 110:1 where it Say's
" The Lord said unto the Lord" Sit at my right hand until I put my enemies undder your feet.
How is the Lord going to sit at his own right hand ?

WHAT? is God talking to him self saying
" self sit at my right hand until I put my enimies at your feet?

Again with the Transliteration, it says
" Jehovah said unto Jesus" Sit at my right hand until I put my enimies at your feet.

Now that makes more sence doesn't it ?

Sincerely yours,
Fred M. Hunter

Posters above take a completely indefensible position.

But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. (ASV)

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (KJV)

But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted, and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ. (D/R)

But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craft, so your thoughts should be corrupted from simplicity as to the Christ. (Darby)

Jesus was the first to come of God Almighty. (Gen. 1:1, John 1:1)

Jesus was the first and last of God. The last that God Almighty's very presence was directly manifest.

Luke 1:
35 The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.

The bible never once refers to Jesus as "Almighty".

Quite notably, the bible reserves the term "Almighty" for Jehovah (God the Father), "the Most High". By contrast Jesus Christ the Son is simply "Mighty", and is never described as "Almighty" even once in the bible.

Here is entire unabridged passage from Revelation chapter 1. It seems rather obvious that the speaker (quoted by John) changes between verse 8 and 9. The earlier speaker is Jehovah God the Father and the latter speaker is Jesus Christ the Son.

(Revelation 1:7-13) Look! He [Jesus] is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, and those who pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief because of him. Yes, Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says Jehovah God, “the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.” [9-13] I John, your brother and a sharer with you in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in company with Jesus, came to be in the isle that is called Patmos for speaking about God and bearing witness to Jesus. By inspiration I came to be in the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a strong voice like that of a trumpet, saying: “What you see write in a scroll and send it to the seven congregations, in Ephesus and in Smyrna and in Pergamum and in Thyatira and in Sardis and in Philadelphia and in Laodicea.” And I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me, and, having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands someone like a son of man [Jesus, it would seem]

Ironically, the shaky foundations of trinitarianism rest on dubious misapplications of perhaps ten bible verses. By contrast, entire passages and important bible concepts literally require Jesus the Son to be a separate person from God the Father. Who created Jesus? To whom did Jesus pray? Who resurrected Jesus? At whose right hand does Jesus sit?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that their worship is a restoration of biblical Christianity, as practiced by the apostles and first century Christians. They recognize Christ himself (and the apostles to a much lesser extent) as the "foundation" of true Christian worship. Of course, the bible teaches that God Himself is the "builder".

(Isaiah 28:16) Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Here I am laying as a foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, the precious corner of a sure foundation.

(Acts 4:10-11) Jesus Christ the Nazarene... This is ‘the stone that was treated by you builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’

(Revelation 21:14) The wall of the city also had twelve foundation stones, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

(Hebrews 11:10) the city having real foundations, the builder and maker of which city is God.

Really, it is the bible rather than any human tradition, catechism, or post-biblical writing which can reveal the truth about Jesus Christ.

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians; they teach that Christ was and is divine and of the same nature as God. What does the bible teach about Jesus?

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the bible to teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. However, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.

(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation

(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God

(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God

(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth

(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak

(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am

(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him

(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father

(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God

(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!
