Actually the "Power of Positive Thinking" people even stole their idea from a dead man from over 1700 years ago. It was one of the concepts of ancient Stoicism.

No, the people who did How to Win Friends and Influence People and The Power of Positive Thinking 50 years ago were the equivalent of Tony and they have been around for a century or more. And Evangelicals have been active for more than that: take a look at the tent movement and Chautauqua preaching and lessons from the 1800's
