Edge: That in no way proves a rapture, what it says to me, that in the end of everything the Lord will come and take us home, period, no rapture.

While some will tell you that the term rapture is a new term (it is) the idea of the apocalypse is not new. jesus taught this message very clearly.

In response to your statement to Edge you speak of at the end when he take us home. Where is he going to take You. Do you know where your home is going to be? Just something to think about.

The Rapture and Second Coming are similar but separate events. Both involve Jesus returning. Both are end times events. However, it is crucially important to recognize the differences. In summary, the Rapture is the return of Christ to the clouds to remove all believers from the earth before the time of God’s wrath. The Second Coming is the return of Christ to the earth to bring the Tribulation to an end and to defeat the antichrist and his evil world empire.
The Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are often confused. Sometimes it is difficult to determine whether a Scripture is referring to the Rapture or the Second Coming. However, in studying end times Bible prophesy, it is very important to differentiate between the two.
The important differences between the Rapture and Second Coming are as follows:

(1) At the Rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the Second Coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

(2) The Second Coming occurs after the great and terrible Tribulation (Revelation chapters 6-19). The Rapture occurs before the Tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).

(3) The Rapture is the removal of believers from the earth as an act of deliverance (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 5:9). The Second Coming includes the removal of unbelievers as an act of judgment (Matthew 24:40-41).

(4) The Rapture will be “secret” and instant (1 Corinthians 15:50-54). The Second Coming will be visible to all (Revelation 1:7; Matthew 24:29-30).

(5) The Second Coming of Christ will not occur until after certain other end times events take place (2 Thessalonians 2:4; Matthew 24:15-30; Revelation chapters 6-18). The Rapture is imminent, it could take place at any moment (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54).

I USED to believe in the Rapture. But the reason I don't is because of biblical prophecy.
It is prophecied that the Messiah would come, and He did.
It is prophecied that He will come again. And He will.
This final part indicates that He will come again ONE TIME.
Having a rapture where all the "good" people get taken up before the world is judged would indicate the Messiah coming TWICE.
Because in Edge's verse, it indicates Messiah comes down to get them and then they go away together.
But when you get to Revelations, the Messiah comes down at the end of everything, to judge and send people where they will go, to lock HaSatan in chains, and to rule and dwell amongst the people in a Holy City here on earth called New Jerusalem.

If he comes before then, then that is not prophecy.

I believe because it is Biblical. As to will it happen in my lifetime. I really hope so.

1Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

You are free to believe that. Just as I am free to believe it speaks of the rapture. I hold no ill will towards those who do not believe it. Of course if I am right and it does mean the rapture and it happens in our lifetime. If you are a Christian you are going in it whether you believe it or not. lol

Eventually, and who knows, maybe it will end in out lifetime. But the rapture will be man made it wont be the wrath of God. I believe if the world does end it will be by nuclear bombs

I don't believe in the rapture, nor do I believe it will happen while I'm alive.

I don't think it will happen the way most say it will, but if it does happen then it should be a wake up call to many non-believers.

You meant the Siouxsie and the Banshees album?

It's GREAT. Sadly underrated, though.

ohhhh, wait.... you meant that BAND, the Rapture. Yeah, they're good, too.

Pre-mill, post-mill, atrib, post trib.. tom-aye-toe, tom-ah-ato.

I haven't figured out for myself what order everything in the book of Revelation happens, but I do believe that God ispired John to write what he wrote, while on the island of Patmos.

The important issue is, are we living today such that if Christ returned for us tomorrow, he would say 'yeah, that one belongs to me"?

I think it will happen in less than 10 years, and in my lifetime only if I don't die before..
