Probably not. No "skipping" definitely seen. It depends on the type of cancer, too; there are all types and they are not mutually risky. As an analogy, just because your grandmother and great-aunt had an infection (two different types) you aren't necessarily at greater risk of cancer.

For most women, the risk involves first-degree relatives (mother, sisters, daughters).

In this day and age,it doesn`t matter weather or not you have cancer in the family. There are so many toxins in the environment, that were never there before. There are toxic chemicals in the building supplys in the home. Our food supply is void of nutrients. The best way to beat cancer,is to detox your body and take nutritional suppliments, including antioxidents.Check out the book Perscription For Nutritional Healing. There are herbs and natural food suppliments that can detox the body.Chlorella, cilantro, wild bear garlic, spiralina, detox. Some antioxidents that help destroy free radicals that can lead to cancer.Green tea, grape seed extract,melatonin,coeenzymeQ10,burdock,garlic,ginko biloba are some of the antioxidents.Eat a healthy diet.Omit processed foods.

Unforutnately it is quite possible. The good news is that you can take precautions against it with watching your diet and regular doctor check ups. It runs in my familly too. My grands and also one of my uncles has succumbed to it. I don't feel too worried because i keep my self as healthy as possible...don't smoke...drink moderately....and take other measures to minimise my propensity to be diagnosed with it.
Once you take care of yourself you'll be fine.

Take care :)
