I would love to think so....
I am pregnant, and crave vlasic kosher dill spears like crazy. They are really high in sodium (3/4 of a pickle SPEAR supplies almost 10% of the daily allowance!...why do they only count 3/4 spear as one serving?)
I eat at least one spear per day, but sometimes eat 2 or 3 when I get "out of control".
Some pickles have yellow dye #5, and that is supposed to be bad. And the sodium is really bad for most people.
If you want a "healthier" alternative (I love these, but sometimes I am lazy and don't feel like using 3 minutes to prepare them):
Peel and slice a cucumber. Sprinkle with the juice of half a lime. Sprinkle with salt (I like LOTS of it), then sprinkle with the juice from the other half of the lime. Toss it a tiny bit. Add tabasco or Tapatio hot sauce (or durkee red hot sauce)...as much as you want. Soooo Good.

The dills are pickled cucumbers with a lot of sodium. And sweet pickles have lots of sugar. They probably are not the healthiest food to eat, but eating a couple of dill pickles at night is much healthier than eating sweets or a bag a chips. I watch my weight and sometimes eat them at night to stave off hunger pains.

Yes, pickles are healthy in moderation - they do contain a lot of salt from the pickling spices and process. SAC

Yes and no. Pickles are cured in vinegar and vinegar is one of the healthiest foods on the planet. It has been used medicinally for thousands of years. They gave it to Christ while he was on the cross.
The "no" part of my answer is - pickles are also cured with salt. Lots of salt. And a diet high in salt can lead to heart disease.
You can try low sodium pickles. They don't taste as good, though.

pickles don't have fats, but they can contribute to hypretension(high blood pressure) from sodium content
