Microwave radiation...good or bad?

Question

Even though the radiation from a microwave is the 2nd safest, isn't it still bad for you? For example, it isn't good if you use it to cook a meal once a day with it...right?

Its bad for you if you warm up food in plastic containers, the heat from the microwave activates the chemicals in the plastic which is known to cause cancer. The safe way is to use microwave glass dishes. I never use plastic in mine only glass.

False. No risk since the ovens are shielded. There is no radiation in the food.

Microwaves work by very short-range radio-type waves (wavelength in the range of 1-2 inches or 2-4 cm.) that heats water molecules in the food WITHOUT having to heat the air around the food the way conventional oven using infrared heat does. So the food cooks faster. You let it sit a minute and/or stir it to mix hot spots and cold spots together to make the temperature uniform. Go ahead and "nuke" your food 3-4 times a day if you want.

Well, it's not *good, per se, but I don't think it's going to cause any harm. They can potentially cause problems for those with pacemakers, but using a cell phone on a regular basis is probably more dangerous than using a microwave (think about the vicinity to the brain).

the radiation in a microwave would have no effect on you unless you stood right by it with your face a few inches from the door all the time.
Microwaves only stay radioactive for a few seconds...so it dosnt have any negative effect on your food

i think microwave radiation is bad for you, well at least thats what my mom says about it! and also i dont think it will be bad to cook a mealonce a day with it, as long as you dont abuse it.

radiation isn't good in the microwave if you look at it. It ruins your eyes.
