Yes, in the Mormon religion reality exists. Truth exists and is absolute, not relative. Joseph Smith taught that truth is things as they were, as they are, and as they are to come. Our experience here in this world is actually happening.

Some would claim that evil cannot exist in a world that God created, so evil must be an illusion. We say that evil does exist, and it is real.

This is very much a philosophical question. "What is Real".

I don't believe that we're having a "Matrix-like" experience, however I do believe that ultimately we'll discover that the Soul is what is real and the body is what is constructed around it.

I don't really see what this question has do do with Mormonism though.....

Yes this world is an illusion.

I believe in a god of unconditional love that created our souls with free will (not humans) in his likeness. many souls could not bear to leave fathers side for the loss of love. many souls went out and returned to share their adventures. Some souls rebeled wanted to be a god themselves. This place (earth system) WAS CREATED FOR THE SOUL TO MAKE ITS FINAL CHOICE. Do they really want to be a "little God and live in dominion=lordship over others. or return to father of love/fellowship/joy/sharing/ab... bliss.

D&C 131:7 There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes;
8 We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified we shall see that it is all matter.
