What if you had a pistol in your jacket and the person is standing right in front of you alone in the middle of nowhere? What would you do?

I second Cindy's answer. It's easy to say, "kill him or her", but one never knows unless it happens. Just hope it never happens.

If I have the chance at the moment, I would kill him. If I don't have the chance, I would chase him until I see him behind bars. If I simply meet him later and I have a pistol in my jacket, I could kill him or not... I don't know... I am sure that at the moment, to save someone, I would do it with no remorse. After the fact, I really don't know what I would do.

Peace!

I can tell you with complete honesty that if someone were to rape one of my daughters, or for that matter one of my foster daughters I would kill them. I would not report the rape to the police and it would not involve a gun. To borrow a term from pulp fiction I would be getting 'medieval on their ***". They would live another 6 months in pure agony wishing for death.

I know some here say they wouldn't know unless actually faced with the situation, I can only assume most of them do not in fact have daughters. I can tell you 100% that I would handle it myself, I might not actually kill them as I would not do my kids any good from prison, but a late night sneak attack with a cordless drill and duct tape would not be out of the question.

I'd be seriously fighting the urge to kill the bastard. In all honesty, I would do whatever I could to remain strong for my daughter/sister/mother and make sure I was able to help them deal with the ordeal the best way possible. This happened to my mother, and I very nearly did kill the man. But I had to do what was best for my mom, for me, and for my daughter. Going to prison for murder (would still happen whether the jury empathized with me or not) was and is not acceptable.

A friend spent two years in prison before the trial came up and then he was convicted for 12 years.. which he appealed ... 6 months later he was a free man.

He was accused of making a pedophile "land fill" and eventually was acquitted.

Still my good friend, to this day. Of course, being an upstanding model citizen, I would leave it to the law... or to karma.

Dad's don't get raped? Well, I guess that's good...

What else can you do but see that the person gets the punishment deserving of the crime, and simply be there for the loved one in trying to cope and help them get through it.

Hunt them down. The law would be the least of thier concerns. Some people just don't deserve to live.
