I own a 2007 nissan altima. I love it! However, the brakes squeal. I have been to the dealership twice and they said that in the morning, the brakes may squeal due to condensation in the morning; however, it is not just in the morning anymore. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

metallic brake pads are known to squeal at times usually when there is a possibility of moisture. metallic brake pads last much longer but you can always go to semi-metallic and the problem will probably go away.

Yes many Altima's with plastic hub caps and steel wheels squeak under light braking. It does not diminish the effectiveness or safety. Cars with alloy wheels don't seem to squeal as much. I can tell you I can stop the noise only for about 5,000 miles at a time cleaning and de-glazing the pads on all four wheels and properly lubricating the shims and pad contacts in the calipers. The dealer was partially correct AM braking first thing but dust build up in the pad groove and edge noise from the pads can be eliminated only until dust builds up again. IF possible wash the dirt/brake dust Thur those little holes in the rims off of your brake calipers.

Yes! My brakes squeal all the time. The rotors and brakes have been replaced TWICE! My dealership won't even attempt to fix them anymore. So I sued Nissan under the NC Lemon Laws. They settled for $6000 and they are still obligated to fix the brakes. I'm considering a class action suit now that I am finding out soooo many consumers are having the exact same issue. Brakes are not something to be taken lightly.

I don't own one but if it's doing it all the time, I'd take it back to the dealership to get it fixed. I know you said that you have and they gave you an excuse. make sure you have it documented that you've gone into the dealership with these problems. I can't believe that the reason they gave you is legit. If that were true then everyone's tires would be squealing all the time. If they can't get it fixed after a certain amount of tries, I'm not saying you could but depending on the severity of the problem, you might be able to get another car under the rules of the lemon laws. Don't just brush it off. Make sure it is all documented and keep copies....
