I have a friend that's Catholic, I think she probably knows I'm an atheist as she posts on my myspace page all the time and reads stuff on there, and not only do I say I'm an atheist on there, I have many of my writings of theological nature in my blogs which I assume she has read, as she's responded to some of my other blogs. Hasn't confronted me about it so it must not bother her too bad.

Most Catholics i know would not give an atheist a hard time.
I started a thread down below - mainly about how my Catholic friends stated they felt more comfortable around Atheists than they did amongst certain Protestant groups.
Why? - You folks don't heckle/harass them as much.

I personally think Atheists are people of great faith.
They believe the entire wonderful universe came into being all by itself from the smallest subatomic particle to the most immense galaxy and from the amazing complexity of the human mind to the love between a mother and child.
I find it much easier to believe that an all powerful and all loving God is behind it all.
"To be an atheist requires an indefinitely greater measure of faith than to receive all the great truths which atheism would deny." (Joseph Addison)
I do not have enough faith to be an Atheist.
With love in Christ.

Catholics with very strong faith generally have a negative view of atheists especially those whose families are bound by faith.
They claim that without faith in God, the family will not be united in prayer; therefore, the family will lose unity/ wholeness.

My family are all Catholic and so are most of their friends. They don't seem to care. The most I've ever heard is "I don't agree but its up to you". And trust me, my family would just say what they think if they were upset in any way because thats what they're like. They don't play games and they don't mince words. If they don't like something, you know it. The family friends are the same way.

I dont know. My family is catholic and they dont know Im agnostic. But were not that religious so even if I told them then it wouldnt help in answering your question. Hell they even said I could change my religion if I wanted to so I cant really help you with this.
But youre right though. Using prevention is no sin.

I am catholic and make no apologies for it. In return, I expect no one else to make apologies for what they believe or what religion they practice. I think everyone has the right to be comfortable and happy in that respect. I would be upset if they felt poorly of me, so I have no right to think poorly of them. If they are happy, then I'm happy for them

They do not agree with your opinion. Everyone is created to have some faith. I'm one to, and please do not insult me, it depends on the person on if your nice or not. Though, it is never to late to turn back. Everyone has some faith. Some (don't get mad at me, please) think that Atheists have had a bad past and that God has abandoned him. Well, He is always there for you, even if you don't believe, it's never to late to turn to Him.
