On the threadmill I lose about 35 calories for every 1Km walked. Same with walking on the road? How much food is 35 calories burnt equivalent to?

Yes if you walk with it set to level. If you want to work harder and lose faster adjust it up on an angle so that it is like walking on a hilly road.

I can see you figured out the calculation
for walking on the treadmill and road walk.
I would say it is the same this is because you are getting your exercise. I would not try to go for walks in rain instead use your treadmill
When you use your treadmill as your body gets stronger your level will increase.
Road walking if your body gets stronger you will be able to walk further.
If you are sick don't rush back in your fitness routine. You may have to move the level of your treadmill down and wait for your body tells you to move back.
The using of a treadmill also alleviates depression.

umm about 13-14 baby carrots. Well no I know running on the treadmill is much easier than running on land because of the belt it gives you a boost. But if you use power incline it can be more than just walking on flat land and treadmills are WAY more boring.
