It could be something as simple as the quality of your mattress or it could be one of a host of reasons.
You didn't mention your age, but it doesn't really matter. You could have arthritis in your back (it shows up at any age), you could have DDD, Degenerative Disc Disease, you could be a effected because of your job, if you have to sit too much or if you are a laborer it doesn't really matter if it is the same type of posture or movements day after day.
If I where you before I did anything drastic regarding this, I would check into a different mattress, even if you just have to go sleep at a friends for a couple of nights to see if it makes a difference. Of course you already know that if it continues you should see your regular medical doctor. I don't recommend a chiropractor for several good reasons unless one is prescribed to you by a medical doctor.
Hope you get some relief soon!!

If you hurt your back you would known when it happen; therefore, it sounds as if you sitting and/or sleeping in a bad position. Try sleeping in a different position, like on your side with a pillow between your knees and you should make sure that while you sleep that your back is straight and feet are flat on the floor. Do not sit for long periods, get up and walk around for a minute or two. If problems persist, go to a medical doctor (MD).
Therapeutic mattress works wonders.

You could have arthritis. It is thought that arthritis only affects older people, but I developed it in my 20's without realizing it and it became very painful in my early 30's, especially in the mornings and also throughout the day. I found an amazing combination of taking fish oil liquid or capsules and glucosamine chondroitin every night. I use the "Garden of Life" products; they work the best for me. I have found that other products I have used don't work as well, but I'm sure there are others that do. You can get them at the Vitamin Shoppe online or in the store. Hope you feel better.

It is quite possible that it is from your posture or even from your mattress causing pressure points in your spinal column.
My suggestion would be to go to either your doctor or your chiropractor for an exam, if there is no physical damage (ie slipped disc etc.) then I would highly recommend making an appointment for a massage, it can greatly improve both physiological pain and any possible structural stressors.

Our spine have a natural curvature, when there are changes to this, you will have discomfort or pain. Your muscles will become tense and pulled.
