My church doesn't have pastors...should I buy a gift or something for all the priesthood holders??(I'll wait until I'm baptized then I can buy myself something extra special!)

Tasha. In my church, every male who is baptized receives the Aaronic priesthood(the priesthood that Moses' brother had) and then after 1 year of being in the religion you get the Melchezidek(sp) priesthood....not sure why it's called that...
Anyway...so yeah, all males who are 12+ in my church have the priesthood...we can preach on sunday(no professional clergy) we can all go out and baptize people, and when the have the Mel*** priesthood we can give them the gift of the holy spirit, bless them when sick, etc.
(and only like 20-30 regular attending priesthood holders)...we have like 300 members of my church, but only 50-70 regularly attend...oh well.

If you want to do something like that, I'm sure your bishop [branch president] would love a note of thanks for all the hours he puts in.

After looking through your other questions I gather that you are about to be baptized to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We don't celebrate pastor appreciation month. In fact, I've never heard of it. And in a regular ward, there can be over 100 priesthood holders so you wouldn't want to buy them a gift anyway. You don't have to give gifts to your priesthood leaders simply because they are priesthood leaders. They have been called to serve and have accepted that call.
