The answer to your question would be...yes. After all ur neighbors are your God's creations too, and its good to praise the Almighty by praising and loving his creations. As far as enemies go, well 99.9% of us hate them, but we have to remember, maybe our own enemy, might turn into a life-savior for us one day. You never know. So its not good to hate even your enemy.

Love my neighbor? I like them, is that enough?
No, I don't love my enemies. Why else are they called my enemies?
And, considering I'm an atheist, the last question doesn't apply.

In all honesty, I don't even know my neighbors - only been here a month.
I don't have any enemies, at least on my side of things. Waste of energy and time, IMO.
God? Hmmm

Don't necessarily love my neighbor. Definitely don't love enemies.

Yes.
By the way, if God did exist and loved us he would show it like were expected to do. But he doesn't. Christian excuses about freewill don't work either. Either the human will is stronger than God's and can somehow block him, or God cares more about our free will than he does our soul.

Love is life, to hate in time shall end life in the world, to love thy neighbor will bring life eternal.

Most people don't even know their neighbors anymore.
Many people love their enemies so much because it gives them income and employment fighting against them.
God is just a figment of simple people's imagination.

I know I should, and I do try, but my neighbors make it hard as they are the most ungodly, foul mouthed, people. The sad thing is, they need God in their lives and they are soo lost.

I found out a few weeks ago my neighbor has a grow cabinet with 5 HUGE marijuana plants. Ever since then he's pretty much my best friend.

When we love as Christ did, it is He who receives that love.
Some of my neighbors are are pretty doggone hard to like; I am able to love them, yes, but it's possible only through God's grace -- certainly not through any saintly virtue of my own.
