Jacob wrestled with an angel.
24. And he took them and brought them across the stream, and he took across what was his.
25. And Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until the break of dawn.
26. When he saw that he could not prevail against him, he touched the socket of his hip, and the socket of Jacob's hip became dislocated as he wrestled with him.
27. And he (the angel) said, "Let me go, for dawn is breaking," but he (Jacob) said, "I will not let you go unless you have blessed me."
Xian Bibles have changed "angel" to "G-d" I don't know why though.
Peace

Others have explained about Jacob and the angel. God also changed Jacob's name at that time to Israel -- hence the birth of the Israelites.
Ezra and Nehemiah were exiled in Babylon from 586 BCE to 530 BCE. When they returned to Israel, Ezra instituted the reading of the Torah (1st five books of your "Old" Testament) three times a week -- once on the sabbath and twice on market days when all the people were gathered together. He did that because the Torah had been lost to the Israelites during the exile. We have had public readings of the Hebrew Torah scrolls three times/week ever since that time -- but no longer in the market place!
Nehemiah is the one who rebuilt the city.

Jacob wrestled with God, not Esra. In Genesis 32:22, Jacob wrestles all night with God to secure His blessing. Finally, God blesses Jacob and renames him Israel, which means, "he one who strives with God."

I'm not sure about that story, but there's a story in the Bible about how Jacob wrestled with an angel of God. We secular Jews (reform, conservative, reconstructionist) don't treat the stories of the Bible as literal text, but rather as allegories, fables and tales of inspiration.

It wasn't Ezra it was Jacob and no he didn't wrestle with God only an angel but angels are only extensions of God's will.

Better than ezra was a pop rock band from the 1990s...they never attempted to wrestle God, although I believe they challenged him to a steel cage match which was cancelled due to legal issues.

i dont believe in Judaism but there is no way Esra could have wrestled God. God isnt a physical being, he is...well, how do you put this? He's just God,he is everything. its impossible to wrestle him if he isnt actually a physical being
