Absolutely not! If it was just a difference in HDD space, I'd tell you to go for it. But, you lose so much functionality with the 20 gig model. The Wifi connection is spot on and the media card reader is very useful as well.
Plus, with the amount of games and demos and videos you can download from the Playstation Store, you don't want to have to delete or re-download stuff. You'll hear a lot of Wii owners complain about the lack of space. Don't make the same mistake they did. Don't buy a kids toy and pass it off as a gaming console. And don't get 20 when you can get 60 or more!

If you REALLY want a PS3, this is the probably the best one to get. You can always swap out the hard drive for a larger one. The 20GB PS3 is also one of the few models that includes full-hardware support for PS2 backwards compatibility. The 80GB PS3 doesn't include the hardware, but uses emulation for PS2 games, which isn't as good. However, the not-yet-announced 40GB PS3 will have no backwards compatibility whatsoever.
So, if you're set on getting a PS3, getting the 20GB or the 60GB PS3 would be your best bet. The 80GB and later models won't have nearly as many features.

No. It used to be a 100 big difference, and even then, I still don't think anyone should get a 20 gb PS3. Now that it's only 50 buck difference, you know what's coming. Hell no. Spend the 50 extra bucks to get Wi-Fi and the media slots. Just the Wi-Fi itself is worth the 50 bucks. I don't think 20 gb is going to be enough for most people. The 20 gb for the 360 certainly isn't enough for most people, so I would expect the same problem with the 20 gb PS3.

Well considering the price difference in the 20GB version vs. the 60GB version I'd say no, not really.
What exactly is the price difference, $100 I think and you get a bigger HDD, built-in wi-fi, the card readers, for the difference price I'd go with the 60GB.
Now if you're talking used 20GB version vs. new 60GB version, then you may be talking a considerable difference in price and that may be something to consider.

The difference in price isn't that big now - around 50$, but 20GB doesnt have slots for memory cards and wi-fi. If you plan to download demos, listen to music, encode and store movies ( www.pspvideo9.com ) - you'll run out of space soon. You can replace HDD, but you'll spend more money - get 60GB.
