NO Christians should never gamble. God provides us with the income we have, whether we know it or not. And a tenth of that money is already already His, what we give to the tithe. We are not to be wasteful with the money He gives to us. THat money can be used for such great purposes, as helping the needy, giving more to the church, etc. To just take it and blow it away is sin and God will not honor it.
God convicted us about gambling long ago, but had much more revelation a few years ago about it, and its sin, believe me. Not just that you waste the money, but that you are in a place of horrific corruption. Very wicked ppl can run those places and also hang in those places. Frequently alcohol is a big factor in casinos. Not, buying lottery tickets, you dont have that prat of it, but it is still wasting money. THey dont call vegas SIN CITY for no reason. Prostitutes that hang in those places and their customers also. Dins of iniquity.
We are to have NO part of any of that. God wont stop you, but you wont be honored for it. HE gives choice, but there are consequences for every choice, good ones or bad ones.
I am noones judge, but I know Gods word, and I dont understand how a professing Christian can gamble or do a lot of other things. BEing Christian means being a follwer of Jesus Christ. Having His character, obeying as He obeyed the Father, which is a command, not just a suggestion.
Lets ask the proverbial question. WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? Can you picture Him gambling in any way at all. ???? IF you can then I question if you know Jesus. This is not for the questioner, just a question we all need ask in general.
Great question. Thanks.

Well, Atheist or Christians have not proved nor disproved the existence of a soul. In fact science has proved that the body and various parts of it can exist without mental cognacence. In other words, what we think of as a person being "alive" has yet to reach it's climactic definition. Atheists rarely speak logically but instead occupy themselves with attacking religions (really only Christianity in this country) instead of building a stronger total argument. But Christians do the same. But Christians aren't gambling with their lives unless they're missionaries in a dangerous place. What would they be gambling their happiness? We all are subject to that. Atheists and all other religions would be gambling that they were right.

Gambling can be defined as “risking money in an attempt to multiply the money on something that is against the odds.” The Bible does not specifically condemn gambling, betting, or the lottery. The Bible does warn us, however, to stay away from the love of money (1 Timothy 6:10; Hebrews 13:5). Scripture also encourages us to stay away from attempts to "get rich quick" (Proverbs 13:11; 23:5; Ecclesiastes 5:10). Gambling most definitely is focused on the love of money and undeniably tempts people with the promise of quick and easy riches.
So no...

First, Should Christians gamble? Hard to say, the bible teaches us to be good stewards with our money. Gambling for some are putting their faith in winning. That is dangerous. For some, they meet with friends and play poker with the intent of losing or winning a little money but it is not about winning, more about having fun. If you go to Las Vegas with $100.00 to play slots with the intend of spending this money to be entertained and not praying to hit it rich, is their any difference than spending a $100 to be entertained at Disney Land. Second, Christians do get caught up in worldly activities. If this happens to a brother/sister lovingly bring it to their attention. That is what a family does.

You can gamble. Paul doesn't mean that all things lawful are bad.
The problem comes when gambling takes over and becomes an addiction or becomes something that you can't control or you make stupid mistakes with.

I go to the casino myself. The only argument as a Christian that was vaguely compelling for not gambling was the one about being a good steward.
As for the lottery, all that is is a voluntary tax for stupid people, regardless of their faith.

Gambling does nothing to edify (build up, offer encouragement) to one's self or others in the body of Christ. He is to get glory and honor in everything we do or say, and gambling does not do this.

It's not a sin to gamble as far as I know... just don't let it rule your life, put God before gambling always, other wise gambling can become your god. Also put your family and other important things before gambling too.
