I'm working on a huge project for my college group and could use some help with the technicalities. I know that these themes can be found in both gospels, does anyone know the specific passages? Thanks for the help!

-Jesus is an example of a pray-er
-The kingdom of God is in your midst
-Women are disciples
-Whatever Jesus did the apostles can do
-The Holy Spirit fills/guides the people/the church
-Jesus and his followers engage in table fellowship with societal outcasts
-Jesus and his followers advocate the sharing of riches
-Discipleship is witnessing (observe, testify, be martyred)
-Riches are entrusted to one to be shared with others who have none
-Jesus’ death and the death of his followers is innocent martyrdom
-Ascension is a Lukan invention removing Jesus from the earth so the apostles can establish the church

It seems that part of your assignment is to find that information yourself. You're pretty much asking me to do the assignment for you.

You said it is for a group? Why isn't your group helping with this?

Best way to handle it is to read through the books with a few of those ideas in mind. When you find a passage that matches the idea, then write it down.

Some specific things you can find with a concordance. The part "Women are disciples" is important in Luke. Look in the concordance for Mary Magdalene, since the first mention we have of her is in Luke. We also have other stories of women in Luke right around the same chapter.

Those themes resonate throughout Luke and Acts. (They are written by the same person, by the way) Just read through it - maybe even a few times - and jot down notes as you go. Or read a passage then check your list to see what parts fit into that passage.

If you don't have a concordance, you can go to www.BibleGateway.com and type in words into the search engine.
