Same thing with glasses/contacts.
Can I have a real answer? From someone like a person who works with dead bodies as a profession?

We would not remove the braces, that would not only be extremely difficult, but also unneccessary. We remove glasses during the embalming process, and contacts would surely be removed when we cleanse the eyes. Glasses may be put back on for the viewing and then either left on the deceased, returned to the family, or donated to the Lyons.

No. I don't work with dead bodies, but I had a relative who recently passed away, and had a pacemaker and wore glasses. The pacemaker was not removed, just disconnected. The funeral director asked if I wanted to donate the glasses to the Lion's Club, but they can be kept on the body if the family desires. What would be the point of removing braces?

When my Dad died, the casket was closed with what he was wearing... and the accesories were included... rings, watch, etc.

I know that people are buried with their dentures...since without them the face wouldn't be as 'round'...

But I would guess that maybe contacts would be removed...

~ I hope a mortician will answer this.. good question.
