It's not the barking, it's the smell these spiders emit when squished that will get ya!!

It is called "barking spider" because it "hisses" when disturbed not when stepped on

Yes ...it was when I was with Sir Cecil Bowlmaster in the rainforest of Brazil when I discovered one. Peculiarly when you gently step on them they squeal very gently...."please stop.. ya hurtin me..."
