It means to abandon your personal principles and integrity in order to accomplish your personal goals. As an example, it has been said by many people who know her that Beyonce Knowles sacrificed her friends, her integrity and her sense of decency and kindness by stepping on and squashing all of her friends from Destiny's Child so she could become a big star. This is called selling your soul.

Selling something involves a trade, giving something is much different. The Bible says we have to give up our lives, to gain our lives, and I don't think that getting something in the meantime will help in the long run.
Some have given their souls to Jesus, others (like myself) think we are owned outright by the man. That means selling your soul, is selling stolen property...

If this is a real question then the so called answer is: to given in to evil for benefit.
I believe that a soul can not be sold, only a spirit can be surrendered. We don't own our souls, we are masters of our own spirit. So in essence when you "sell your soul" you are basically surrendering your spirit to a false belief.

Selling is the opposite word to Redemption. When Eve and Adam ate the fruit, they willingly sold their souls to Satan, God appeared to men to redem them. To me, if I sell my soul, it simply means I will follow the Devil, not God, or simply follow other people. The word "holy" in ancient Greek meant " different", Are you different from most Christians in this world?

You make an agreement with the devil to give you riches fame etc... In return he gets your soul for eternity, For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul?

It means to throw away all of your higher values to get something that you want. So for example, people who commit adultery are selling their souls, people who get revenge, same thing...

"With virtue you cannot be entirely poor... Without it you cannot be really rich."
Selling your soul is sacrificing you happiness, your beliefs and your pride, for personal gain. And you usually find out after, lol.

you can't sell your soul.
You either go to heaven or hell.
YOu go to heaven if you believe Jesus Christ, the son of God, came as a man and died a holy sacrifice to save you from your sins. Which is what it means when you are saved, or born again.
Or you go to hell, because you did not believe this.
