I wouldn't say so, I would say conflict is the foundation of racism, it is the evolution of the argument to hate that which is not you, to fear the unknown. Racism is not a logical, reasonable truth, but a fiction used to argue further conflict, and division.

Racism has seen its strongest support derived from the misuse of Darwinism, a science that fuelled the notion of superior beings, so in an ironic sense yes;

I think it is more an outgrowth of our sociological tendency to form groups and our competitive instincts that push most of us toward being the 'alpha' group, and thus putting all other groups into a 'lower' or different category.

Add our habit of rationalizing everything we do and you get a host of excuses as to why people become racist. I don't think racism is the foundation of conflict, more of an excuse for it. The foundation of conflict can, more often than not, be found in competition for resources - both real & idealogical.

It's a pretty deep sociological question that can be approached from a number of different ways. It doesn't really have an easy answer. And, it may not have a single answer.

Good Luck!

You're absolutely correct. Racism IS the foundation of man's violent nature. Just look at Cain and Abel..no wait, they were brothers, bad example. Ok, how about the early Christians (Jews) stoned to death by Jews as heretics...ok, here's one - black-on-black crime in the inner cities......

I think Friedrich missed a few chapters in history.

interesting question. I do think of racial delight and no racism can coexist peacefully. Becuase I disagree that racial delight is a substantial clarification for racism. i believe it is somewhat lack of self assurance. each and every authentic racist I certainly have ever prevalent replaced into somewhat certainly the different of having delight of their race. They talked the talked however the whole reason they sense the could down different races is becuase they don't somewhat believe Whites, Blacks, Asians are extra clever than all of us else. in actuality, they'd even secretly sense they are the worst. Like a bully, a racist desires to tear down others to construct themselves up. examine out Germany, they felt the could create a scapegoat of the Jews and decrease them. Which by no potential might have befell, historians agree, had Germans not been ripe for racial prejudice becuase of WWI and the Treaty of Versailles that stripped Germans delight in being German. They have been waiting for everyone to return alongside and tell them Germans weren't purely almost as good as all of us else they have been extra clever. yet this by no potential might have befell in the event that they hadn't been insecure interior the 1st place. with the objective to to me, because of the fact authentic racial delight is that man or woman who is going approximately their each and on a daily basis lives, each and all of the at a similar time as shelter interior the understanding that their people and ancestors are some thing to be pleased with somewhat than the insecure losers who sense the could connect hate communities and continuously proclaim "______ delight!" then I do believe racial delight and a loss of racism (raising your self approximately different communities) can ensue on the comparable time.

While racism makes it easy to recognize conflict, ethnic differences are more important. Take WWII for example. Germany is a culture similar to ours.Yet we had conflict with them.Another example would be our
civil war. While conflict may exist between races,Rwanda is a tragic example of conflict between ethnic groups of the same race.

Every man has to feel good about himself, all macho and stuff. So to bolster his esteen about himself he puts others down. It can be women he beats up in the privacy of his own home. Tortures his children to hear them scream and see fear in their eyes. If that doesn't do it for him he puts down other races. Maybe kills someone because their religion is different from his.
If there is a way a man can establish his machoism aside from getting his brains beat out in a ring with another man.
Perhaps a gang where he is king of the mountain.
where he can fight other gangs of vicious men trying to establish his authority. Men have to be the decider!
King, pharoah his majesty, or honorable judge.
Or somethimes it is a religious title that seems to flip his flipper. Like Pope, priest, father, or Evangelist minister.
Preaching in front of thousands of adoring fans.
A sports hero , a movie star or a rock star.
Until you tame down the testosterone if you kill everyone who isn't your color and establish one religion and let women alone. Men will still find something to establish is higharchy.
Maybe we should just get rid of men.

Conflict and lack of peace are 2 different things. From the beginning of time, I think that the reason behind all wars and the cause of most deaths and man's inhumanity to man has been differing religious beliefs rather than racial differences. They are similar, but religion has always weighed more heavilly toward conflict (and wars/death) than has racial differences.

Lots of Christians did not want muslims to kill millions in Africa...but, muslims did it anyway...millions of arabs have hijacked the muslim religion and use it as an excuse to go crazy...

Racism has nothing to do with conflict in the middle east today.

Saying someone else is evil because he is a "Zionist" is crazy.

People with hatred in their minds for other people they do not even know -- enough to kill people they have never even met before in Isreal -- do.

No, it is not.
Conflict is complex, and cannot be reduced to a single foundation. But most conflicts arise because one cultural group believes it is being wronged by another. Race and religion are seldom significant factors - they are simply one (of many) means of differentiating one group from another. Perceived wrongs are usually related to civil rights, money, resources, acts of violence, exploitation, etc.

Yes, but it is not based on religion.
It is very difficult to eradicate because it originates from the old, ancestral tribal diffidence towards whoever looks different from "us".
