...and she is in so much pain. She's understandibly being very clingy and she can't stop crying. I talked to her nurse about different pain meds, but she wasn't being very cooperative. I've been trying for hours to get my baby to calm down, because she needs to rest, but it seems like the more I try, the more panicky she gets. She keeps telling me that she wants me to hold her, but she can't move, so I've been holding her hand. That doesn't seem to help either. She's one of those girls that just needs to be close to somebody at times. It makes her feel safe. What should I do? I hate that she wants me to hold her and I can't. I can't seem to help her at all.

We ARE at the hospital. She just had major surgery.
No, she's not paralyzed. Everytime she tries to move, it just hurts so bad that she can't.

It is normal for people who have just gone through surgery to feel scared and emotional. Just be there for her. I know that the whole "you need to rest" thing makes her even more worried so just be by her side. Kiss her on the forehead and tell her you love her. Bring her roses and try to asure her that you love her and that you are with her. She will be okay and everything will be fine. Just breathe and help her the best you can. -nicole

is she having an actual medical problem? panic attack for an example or is she just being clingy? If its medical then hold her till she's ok. If she's just being needy and clingy, tell her to get over it. you cant babysit her every minute of the day.

She needs more than you here. And, her clinginess is going to cause problems in your relationship. This is not healthy. If she is in a lot of pain, get her to an E.R.
